Wisdom from the ages, for the ages

The more I study the wisdom of those that have gone before us, the more angry it makes me that we who are in line to take the reins of this great country from the generation before are ill-prepared and quite inept to carry the torch of freedom. All of our technological advances and opportunities in leisure have led us to a place of ignorance; ignorance of what has been sacrificed, of what we have been given, and what is required to maintain those freedoms.

Much of the blame can be put on an education system that is promoting an agenda far removed from the original intent of education.  We are teaching our kids to be good, compliant citizens rather than good thinkers. In that, we’ve created a bunch of followers, willing to toe the government line.

We must, however, share some of the blame. The desire for financial gain, as well as the insatiable appetite of government taking the fruits of our labors, have taken mothers out of the home and placed them in the workplace. Both parents are working long days, shuttling kids to activities thus leaving the nuclear family in tatters.  Mayberry, this ain’t. 

This has been by design by those who think it unfair that we enjoy so much while many millions around the world live in squalor or somewhere in between.  They are an elitist class that suffers little themselves and will never live under the systems they design for everyone else.  Though the endeavor seems noble, it is quite sinister. It is theft on one end and a destroyer of the innate need to produce for ourselves and our families at the other.  The rich, not those who live off trust funds but rather that which they’ve produced and created, become poor and the poor remain poor.  Only those in power remain unaffected.

It’s time for those of us who have always pulled the weight to demand our rights and freedoms once more.  If we go much farther down this road I fear it will be irreversible but by violent revolution.  It does not have to be that way.  What will you do? What is it worth to you? What will the America in which your kids and grandkids live look like?

We have the right to demand real change.  We have the God of Heaven on our side, as He created it and allowed us to experience freedoms and prosperity unheard of in human history when it comes to the general population.  We have experienced freedom and now are getting a taste of what it’s like to have them taken from us. Our selfishness, in this case a good kind of selfishness, should be a great motivator.  We hold the keys to our future right now.   

 As advanced and intelligent as we consider ourselves to be, most of us wouldn’t have been deemed  worthy to sit among men such as those  quoted below, let alone be counted as one of them.  But the beauty of America is that the groundwork has been laid.  All we have to do is learn and apply theses principles.  Please read them, take them to heart, and join us in this battle.

Declaration of Independence II

Many months and many crises have gone by since I started this project.  Most of this document is verbatim from the magnificent original.  I encourage you to read through the original declaration and see if the same thoughts come to you as did me.  You will be surprised by the similarity of the grievances we have in common with the founders when they wrote their historic and world-changing document.

The Declaration of Independence II

 When in the course of human events, it becomes necessary for one people to dissolve the political bands which have connected them with another, and to assume among the powers of the earth the separate and equal station to which the laws of nature and nature’s God entitle them, a decent respect to the opinions of mankind requires that they should declare the causes which impel them to the separation. 

We hold these truths to be self-evident: that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights, that among these are the right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.  That to secure these rights, governments are instituted among men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed; that whenever any form of government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the right of the people to alter or abolish it, and to institute new government, laying its foundation as such principles and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their safety and happiness.

 Prudence, indeed, will dictate that governments long established should not be changed for light and transient causes; and accordingly all experience hath shown, that mankind are more disposed to suffer, while evils are sufferable, than to right themselves by abolishing the forms to which they are accustomed.  But when a long train of abuses and usurpations, pursuing the same object, evinces a design to reduce them under absolute despotism, it is their right, it is their duty, to throw off such government, and to provide new guards for their future security.  Such has been the patient sufferance of these colonies; and such is now the necessity which constrains them to alter their former systems of government.

The history of the current and recent Governing Bodies is a history of repeated injuries and usurpations, all having in direct object the establishment of an absolute tyranny.  To prove this, let facts be submitted to a candid world.

You have refused assent to laws, the most wholesome and necessary for the public good.

You have forbidden legislators to pass laws of immediate and pressing importance, such as would allow us to produce energy from our own abundant resources, and secure our shared borders.

You have bought or otherwise coerced others to pass laws for the accommodation of large districts of people, under threat and bribe; a tactic inestimable to tyrants only.

You have brought forth legislation at hours unusual, for expediency, and denied complete understanding of bills debated, for the sole purpose of fatiguing them into compliance with your measures

You have endeavored to populate our lands by ignoring laws for naturalization of foreigners, to encourage migration hither in defiance of the people and our laws, for therein lies a multitude of constituents to extend your power over the people infinitely and indefinitely.

You have obstructed the administration of justice by appointing judges averse to complying with judicial constraints set forth by our Constitution demanding justice be blind.  Justice shall be no respecter of persons. 

You have named judges dependent on your own political whims, placing them in permanent seats to reinterpret that which is obvious.

You have erected a multitude of new offices, and sent hither swarms of officers to harass our people and eat out their substance. The EPA, DHS, FDA, FEMA, BATF, NSA, IRS and any number of other alphabet agencies are an affront to our own personal sovereignties and wealth.

You have combined with others to subject us to a jurisdiction foreign to our constitution, and unacknowledged by our laws; giving your assent to their acts of pretended legislation.  Kyoto, the United Nations, NAFTA, the Organization of American States, World Health Organization and the World Trade Organization, being a few of the egregious entanglements meant to weaken our national sovereignty.

You have quartered large bodies of illegals among us.

You have made excuses for any crimes and murders for which they should commit on any inhabitants of these states; at times persecuting those designated to protect your citizens from those same criminals.

You have blindly opened up our markets to those who don’t reciprocate, nor do they adhere to the stifling regulations imposed upon domestic businesses.

You have imposed taxes on us at every turn, for every activity or inactivity, every product and its method of production.

You have bowed to the pressures of foreign entities to place members of our volunteer armies on criminal trial for doing their sworn duty to protect the citizens and interests of these states.

You have established arbitrary government, expanding your powers so as to render it at once an example and fit instrument for continuing absolute rule over the states, disregarding the Tenth Amendment meant to ensure the sovereignty of the separate states.    

You have chiseled away our most valuable laws and altering fundamentally the forms of our government. The right to own and manage ones own property as he sees fit, the right to criticize government without reproach, and the right to bear arms, are the foundations of a free society.

You have plundered our businesses, land and bank accounts and destroyed the lives of many.

You are blindly allowing large numbers of foreign jihadists to plot works of death and desolation and cruelty scarcely paralleled in the most barbarous ages; totally unworthy as the heads of a civilized state.

You have permitted domestic insurrections amongst us, and have endeavored to bring upon inhabitants the merciless Islamist savages whose known rule of warfare is an undistinguished destruction of all ages, sexes, and conditions.

In every stage of these oppressions we have petitioned for redress in the most humble terms; our repeated petitions have been answered only by repeated injury.  A Congress, whose character is thus marked by every act which may define a tyrant, is unfit to be the rulers of a free people.

Nor have we been wanting in our attention to our elected officials.  We have warned them from time to time of attempts by the legislature to extend an unwarrantable jurisdiction over us.  We have reminded them of the circumstances of our emigration and settlement here.  We have appealed to their native justice and magnanimity, and we have conjured them by the ties of our common kindred to disavow these usurpations, which would inevitably interrupt our connections and correspondence.  They too have been deaf to the voice of justice and of consanguinity.  We must, therefore, acquiesce in the necessity which denounces our separation, and hold them, as we hold the rest of mankind, enemies in war, in peace, friends.

We, therefore, the People of the United States of America, in general congress assembled, appealing to the Supreme Judge of the world for the rectitude of our intentions, do, in the name and by the authority of the good people of these states, solemnly publish and declare, that these united states are, and of right ought to be, free and independent states; that they are absolved from all allegiance to the derelict government, and that all political connection between them and the Federal government is, and ought to be, totally dissolved; and that as free and independent states they have full power to levy war, conclude peace, contract alliances, establish commerce, and to do all other acts and things which independent states may of right to do.  And for the support of this declaration, with a firm reliance on the protection of Divine Providence, we mutually pledge to each other our lives, our fortunes and our sacred honor.

Score one for free speech! Miss California to stay.

Just listened to the press conference in which The Donald defended Carrie Prejean’s answer to the set-up by Perez Hilton.  She will remain in her position of Miss California.  Free speech prevails.

It’s refreshing to hear someone speak from the heart, without malice and with dignity regardless of the “political correctness” that abounds in our “tolerant” society. Don’t often get that from the other side.

Tolerance has become a one way street where mainstream thought is stifled so as not to offend even the most offensive.   Perhaps this is the start of the reversal of that trend.   Hers was not an attack on a lifestyle she sees as deviant.  It was an answer to a question asking her opinion on a controversial, high profile issue.  Especially in a state where a solid majority continues to vote that said activity is not to become law. 

We cannot all agree on all things or even most things, but we have to agree that a person has the right to an opinion and to state that opinion.  The personal attacks that the homosexual (special) rights / Hollywood crowd level at anyone anywhere that dares express an opinion contrary to theirs  is absolutely unacceptable and quite hypocritical. 

If we don’t speak against what we believe to be wrong and don’t stand up for what is right, we will continue down the path of moral relativism (situational ethics)that has gotten us into the moral mess most of the world is in.

Obama’s DHS – “We are all terrorists now.”

It’s time to give them something to fear.

As Patrick Henry said, “The Constitution is not an instrument for government to restrain the people, it is an instrument for the people to restrain the government – lest it come to dominate our lives and interests.”

Thomas Jefferson said, “What country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that they preserve the spirit of resistance. Let them take arms.”  It’s not yet that time, and God help us that we never get to that point, but the wisdom of the founders came from experience.

So there were some objections by civil liberties officials in DHS to the report issued last week placing over half the country on a watchlist.  Of course the report still went out.  I really believe those of us that are on the right need to be the voices of reason and civility, but I’m afraid this will be another rant much like the one last week about the Apologist-in-Chief. 

Most of us are aware of the report issued from Homeleand Security stating that pro-lifers, believers in the Constitution with all its gun ownership, free speech, right to assemble, rights of states OVER the federal govt., etc. , and – most egregiously – veterans who have risked life and limb, should be watched for increased possibility of violent actions against the federal government.

Because of the  outrage from normal citizens who have an opinion contrary to the “enlightened,” President Obama has “distanced himself” from his own department on this report.

Again, Mr. President, you are showing yourself to be inept at making appointments to your cabinet to implement your policies and have no control what your administration does.  Or you don’t have the political will or perceived mandate to stand up and actually say what you believe,  preferring to hide behind those doing your dirty work.  Both apply, but you and your Marxo-Socialist handlers know that if you tell the American people that you hate and distrust half of them, MORE THAN OUR SWORN FOREIGN ENEMIES – judging by your appeasing actions with Castro and Iran and Syria, etc), your meteoric political rise may come to a screeching halt under the boots of the patriots you so despise.

Is it coincidence that this report came out right before the Tea Parties? Your mind-numbed sycophants and groupies may believe it coincidence, but we ain’t buyin’ that any more than anything else that comes from this administration.  Your Marxist Mentor Alinsky’s Rules for Radicals says the end justifies the means – truth be damned. 

I’m sure you made it a point to avoid any sight of the tea parties for fear of making your knees quake, but if you have ANY thoughts on a positive legacy, you would be wise to look out the window and see the 50+ million potential terrorists that surround you and your minions.  Your complicit media friends don’t have the luxury of hiding behind others as you do. They have fully vested themselves in your success, and we know they sense the real possibility of your administration’s collapse and have  had to ramp up the propaganda. Their readership / viewership is falling and failing at a disastrous clip and they can’t figure out why.  Demeaning and slandering well over half your potential customers doesn’t seem like much of a business plan.  But then again, the behemoth that is our government will not let their propaganda arm fail (see my post recent post here

We know you don’t pull the strings, but you are the face of the monster and you are growing uglier with the passing of each day. 

Come on, America! This is our country and we have every right to take it back from the bastardizing politicians that have run rough-shod over one of the greatest documents ever written, the US Constitution.  This has been occurring for decades and our time is now!

Who should join the fight?
1.  Anyone who believes the Constitution is our basis for governance.
2. Anyone who goes to church since most churches, at least any worth their salt, are vehemently opposed to the killing of human babies.
3. Veterans of any or even no conflict, and their family members.
4. Democrats – see above
5. Republicans – see above
6. Living, breathing humans
7. Those who enjoy freedom in the greatest country on Earth.
If this list doesn’t constitute a huge majority, the battle is already lost. 

What will YOU do about the daily,  incessant attacks on our freedoms?
The Tea Parties have to be the beginning and we have to stay “in it to win it.”
The Left is laughing at us – who will have the last laugh?

As America’s religion goes, so goes the country.

A sign o’ the times – and what holiday, I ask, is “Spring?” That used to be a SEASON! How offensive is GOOD FRIDAY and to WHOM?!

 

As I lament the quickly deteriorating state of America I also lament the state of the souls of her citizens.  America has been rotting from the inside and now the facade is beginning to crumble.  Our leaders are corrupt, moral absolutes have been diluted or destroyed and ours has become a culture of decadence and selfishness.

President Obama recently said America is not a Christian nation. Apparently it’s OK and wonderful to have oppressive Islamic countries, but a Christian country is undesirable. After I got over my initial anger, I’m afraid I have to agree with him at this point in time.  He’s supposedly a believer, and that’s between him and God, but he and his fellow ideologues have done all they can to destroy the religious foundation of America.  

Gay rights, abortion of any kind, taking prayer out of schools, Christmas decorations from public places – all of these have been implemented by those who are in charge right now. The Left’s near total control of education over the last 40 years has seen to it that references to the Founding Fathers, religious or otherwise, are skimmed over or avoided completely. 

How I long for a return of those statesmen, instruments of Divine Providence used to create this the most free and prosperous land in the history of man, to manifest themselves to this current generation.  We’re treated to pandering, lies, feigned support for the military, and petty bickering. 

John Adams, in October 1798, said the following and it is shows the wisdom given to him and his contemporaries when the building blocks were being laid almost 300 years ago.
         “Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people.  It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other.”

         “I’m sure there never was a people, who had more reason to acknowledge a divine interposition in their affairs, than those of the United States; and I should be pained to believe, that they have forgotten that agency, which was so often manifested during our revolution, or that they failed to consider the omnipotence of that God, who is alone able to protect them.”

The enemies of freedom, inside and outside our borders, have been chipping away at the foundations since they were created, but the fabric has been held together by the Judeo-Christian ethic, or at the very least the perceived notion of a higher power and the benefits of living a good life.  Respect for life and property have their roots in every major religion, but it is a core of the Christian faith.  The first four of the Ten Commandments pertain to our relationship wih the Holy God.  The remaining six deal with our relationships with each other.  A quick review of these six and their attending assaults I hope will give pause to those who think a return to our Constitution can be accomplished without a return to our faith.

Fifth Commandment – Honor your Mother and Father
            Society is telling our kids to have sex as often and anywhere they like, certainly against the desires of parents.  The UN Rights of the Child proposal will be a huge detriment to our responsibilty to raise our children. Government (sometimes called public schools) indoctrinate our children in values contrary to those taught at home.

Sixth Commandment – Thou shalt not murder
           
Sadly, murder is a common occurrence in lower income neighborhoods , but isn’t  restricted only to those neighborhoods.   The average age of the perpetrator is younger than ever. News reports of 14 year olds killing other human beings doesn’t shock the way it used to.  Often a criminal that commits murder gets less time than drug dealers, large-scale polluters or animal abusers.
           The biggest and most damning trespass of the 6th Commandment is the horror of the killing of the unborn – abortion.  Under the auspices of “choice” or “health/life of the mother,”  we’ve entrenched the  murder of human beings into an acceptable activity.  Even most who abhor it will not stand up and speak for fear of being castigated.  So by our “sin of silence” this practice has moved to the point of allowing babies born after botched abortions to be left to die a cold, lonely death in a dark room off to the side.  If these “unwanted” babies were left on a doorstep somewhere I guarantee they’d be snatched up and taken care of by somebody, with media reports of how a community came together to find it a loving home, but since this occurs in a nearly empty room out of public view it’s OK to extinguish a life breathed by God Himself.
           
Seventh Commandment – Thou shalt not commit adultery
            God considers ANY sex outside of marriage to be adultery. Hetero or homosexual. Watched any primetime network TV over the last 20 years or more? Enough said.

Eighth Commandment – Thou shalt not steal
             
Our government, through legislative fiat, has been stealing from the producers and giving it to the non-producers. Just because it’s legal doesn’t mean it isn’t stealing. 

Ninth Commandment – Thou shalt not bear false witness (lie)
              Terms like ‘disingenuous’ have become the new ‘liar’ but softens it to an acceptable tenor.  Our elected leaders have perfected the art of bearing false witness. 

Tenth Commandment – Thou shalt not covet (desire to take from another) your neighbors wife, property, etc. (abridged for space)
              
Where do you start with this one?  Much can be referred back to the Eighth Commandment above.  The immoral theft and mismanagement by investment banking has caused the loss of trillions of dollars in our portfolios, yet it seems those running the show have made out just fine.  Sure, their portfolios presumably have taken a hit, too but when your making tens of millions of dollars running a company into risky investments which receive bailouts from your powerful friends in DC, it’s not so bad.
              The whole Socialist mentality our country now seems to have embraced is built upon this premise. 

Sociopsychologist Warren Benton said in Temporary Society, “In order to effect rapid change, one must mount a vigorous attack on the family, lest the traditions of the present generations be preserved.”  Another noted sociopsychologist, James Coleman, was even more straight-forward. He said, “If  ‘equality of opportunity’ (read socialism’) is to become part of the American Dream, the traditional family must be weakened.”  Ominous statements, indeed, and common in educational institutions, especially higher education.  It explains why so many college students come out so far removed from their values going in. 

Our public education system has done a thorough job of indoctrinating our children for decades, but we can’t hold ourselves blameless if we failed to correct those teachings by reinforcing our values at home or, better yet, homeschooling them – a choice my wife and I made before our children were born.  I can talk the talk and walk the walk.  My wife is an RN and we’ve sacrificed close to a half-million dollars so far for our decision and, frankly, have no regrets.

Moral relativism is a sinister mindset that leads to pain and confusion for our kids.  They’re told that all lifestyles are equal.  They’re told that we all have our own path to heaven and no one is more right than others.  They’ve been taught that corporal punishment should be impuned or even prosecuted.   They’ve been taught that their self-esteem should be caressed at all costs.  The only way to reconcile all this in their developing value-system is by diluting the messages of the Bible and the values many have grown up with.  Our education system and entertainment industry pound on those values every day.  These kids grow up and raise children that have never known discipline, have few boundaries and no truths to anchor themselves to.  What a scary place to be!

To get a glimpse of America a decade or two from now just look at England and France.  They have given up religion en masse, and their societies are under assault from Islam. Experts are projecting both to be Islamic countries within a couple decades.  Some estimates put it as early as 2030, just 20 years from now.  How could that be, you may ask?  Pure and simple, Westerners have embraced smaller families and the “choice” of killing tens of millions of potential Westerners while Muslims are having larger families for the sake of growing their populations. Our mothers have left the home in pursuit of careers and “things,” leaving insufficient time to grow and nurture large families. 

America, if we really want to get back to the country we were with the freedoms that have been the envy of the world, we need to get back the spiritual component as well as the political.  We need to say, “no” to to sports on Sunday mornings.  We need to teach the important things, like the struggles inherent with freedom and responsibility. We need to teach that what we do in private is in full view of God. If we don’t go to church regularly and seek God’s will for our lives, ask for forgiveness for our sins of commission as well omission by allowing the horrible things that have become commonplace and give Him his rightful place as the Divine Creator, our spiral into decadence will continue. 

Romans 13:3-6 says about Godly rulers-  

“[They] are not a terror to good works, but to the evil. Wilt thou then not be afraid of the power? do that which is good, and thou shalt have praise of the same: For he is the minister of God to thee for good. But if thou do that which is evil, be afraid; for he beareth not the sword in vain: for he is the minister of God, a revenger to execute wrath upon him that doeth evil. Wherefore ye must needs be subject, not only for wrath, but also for conscience sake. For this cause pay ye tribute also: for they are God’s ministers, attending continually upon this very thing.”

In this upside-down world where evil is called good and good evil, it doesn’t appear that what we currently have are Godly rulers.  Perhaps we get what we deserve.

God, have mercy on us.

Here come the Brown Shirts! Obama’s ‘Organizing for America’

We kept telling ourselves during the campaign that this man was a Marxist, but how is it that we still can’t believe he would actually do all this stuff?  Perhaps we thought there were enough real patriotic Americans, even in the Democrat Party, that would stand in the way of anything like this.  I guess we were wrong. Watch it and weep.  The liberals in education and the media have finally succeeded in brainwashing enough of the younger generations to do their bidding.  Saul Alinsky would be proud.

Dem. Propaganda Machines- too big to fail! Dem Senator wants to bailout failing papers

We knew this was coming.  Without their complicit media the Left would fade into obscurity.  Love how they couch this in terms of preserving the smaller, community papers when we know it’s to prop up the traitorous New York Times, LA Times, Obama Chicago Tribune, the Washington Post.  Heck, they’ll probably classify the Huffington Post, CNN, MSNBC, and Daily Kos as newspapers while they’re at it.

Sen. Benjamin Cardin introduced a bill March 24 that would let newspapers become non-profit organizations, a step the San Francisco Chronicle and other beleaguered daily newspapers nationwide are believed to be considering.

The Maryland Democrat’s Newspaper Revitalization Act would allow newspapers to operate as non-profits, if they choose, under 501(c)(3) status for educational purposes, similar to public broadcasting stations, he said in a March 24 statement. Under this proposed arrangement, newspapers would not be allowed to make political endorsements, but would be allowed to freely report on all issues, including political campaigns. Advertising and subscription revenue would be tax exempt and contributions to support coverage or operations could be tax deductible, the senator said.

However, he said the measure “is targeted to preserve local newspapers serving communities and not large newspaper conglomerates.” And because newspaper profits have been falling in recent years, no substantial loss of federal revenue is expected.

“We are losing our newspaper industry,” said Cardin. “The economy has caused an immediate problem, but the business model for newspapers, based on circulation and advertising revenue, is broken, and that is a real tragedy for communities across the nation and for our democracy.

Cardin added that although many news sources exist, the public relies largely on newspapers “for in-depth reporting that follows important issues, records events and exposes misdeeds.”

In fact, he said, most if not all sources of journalistic information — from radio to television to the Internet — gathers their news from newspaper reporters who cover the news on a daily basis and know their communities.

Leading business executives, including billionaire investment banker Warren Hellman, recently made an overture to Hearst Corp., which owns the San Francisco Chronicle, to help it become a nonprofit.

The proposal would be for a nonprofit corporation “to take over the Chronicle,” with Hearst continuing to provide some philanthropic support, Coblentz said. Details remain sketchy, and it’s unclear if the proposal is being seriously considered by Hearst.

But there’s no doubt that the Chronicle and a host of other metropolitan dailies are seeking new solutions. Citing Barclays Capital, the Maryland senator noted that newspaper advertising revenue plummeted 25 percent last year, and circulation at many print publications fell as well, as many readers migrated to the Internet, where most (but not all) news is free.

In the statement, Cardin noted that the Seattle Post-Intelligencer, Rocky Mountain News, Baltimore Examiner and San Francisco Chronicle, among others, have either ceased daily publication or announced they may have to stop publishing, and that other publications, including newspapers owned by the Tribune Co., owners of the Los Angeles Times and Baltimore Sun, have filed for bankruptcy “or have had to institute severe cutbacks that have impacted news coverage.”

Cardin’s bill came just a week after House Speaker Nancy Pelosi asked U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder to loosen antitrust restrictions to help newspapers like the Chronicle survive.

For many, the outlook is grim. The Post-Intelligencer, also owned by New York-based Hearst, shuttered its print publication March 17 and converted to online-only news coverage. The Rocky Mountain News closed last month. The San Diego Union-Tribune is being sold to a turnaround specialist, quite possibly because of its real estate assets. Papers such as the Seattle Times and the Philadelphia Inquirer are also reported to be in potential jeopardy.

Critics worry that the nonprofit model may not suit newspapers, and that such an approach could give government more opportunities to control the news. And Cardin admitted as much. “This may not be the optimal choice for some major newspapers or corporate media chains, but it should be an option for many newspapers that are struggling to stay afloat.”

That’s the plan. Does anyone really think the NY Times, et al, would stand on the principle of freedom of the press and go under when they can be coddled by the same people they carry. I see a total win for most of these filthy rags.

It’s all about 545 People – a must read

Politicians are the only people in the world who create problems and then campaign against them.

Have you ever wondered, if both the Democrats and the Republicans are against deficits, WHY do we have deficits?

Have you ever wondered, if all the politicians are against inflation and high taxes, WHY do we have inflation and high taxes?

You and I don’t propose a federal budget. The president does.

You and I don’t have the Constitutional authority to vote on appropriations. The House of Representatives does.

You and I don’t write the tax code, Congress does.

You and I don’t set fiscal policy, Congress does.

You and I don’t control monetary policy, the Federal Reserve Bank does.

One hundred senators, 435 congressmen, one president, and nine Supreme Court justices 545 human beings out of the 300 million are directly, legally, morally, and individually responsible for the domestic problems that plague this country.

I excluded the members of the Federal Reserve Board because that problem was created by the Congress. In 1913, Congress delegated its Constitutional duty to provide a sound currency to a federally chartered, but private, central bank.

I excluded all the special interests and lobbyists for a sound reason. They have no legal authority. They have no ability to coerce a senator, a congressman, or a president to do one cotton-pickingthing. I don’t care if they offer a politician $1 million dollars in cash.

The politician has the power to accept or reject it. No matter what the lobbyist promises, it is the legislator’s responsibility to determine how he votes.

Those 545 human beings spend much of their energy convincing you that what they did is not their fault. They cooperate in this common con regardless of party.

What separates a politician from a normal human being is an excessive amount of gall. No normal human being would have the gall of a Speaker, who stood up and criticized the President for creating deficits. The president can only propose a budget. He cannot force the Congress to accept it.

The Constitution, which is the supreme law of the land, gives sole responsibility to the House of Representatives for originating and approving appropriations and taxes. Who is the speaker of the House? Nancy Pelosi. She is the leader of the majority party.

She and fellow House members, not the president, can approve any budget they want. If the president vetoes it, they can pass it over his veto if they agree to.

It seems inconceivable to me that a nation of 300 million can not replace 545 people who stand convicted — by present facts — of incompetence and irresponsibility. I can’t think of a single domestic problem that is not traceable directly to those 545 people. When you fully grasp the plain truth that 545 people exercise the power of the federal government, then it must follow that what exists is what they want to exist.

If the tax code is unfair, it’s because they want it unfair.

If the budget is in the red, it’s because they want it in the red .

If the Army & Marines are in IRAQ , it’s because they want them in IRAQ

If they do not receive social security but are on an elite retirement plan not available to the people, it’s because they want it that way.

There are no insoluble government problems.

Do not let these 545 people shift the blame to bureaucrats, whom they hire and whose jobs they can abolish; to lobbyists, whose gifts and advice they can reject; to regulators, to whom they give the power to regulate and from whom they can take this power. Above all, do not let them con you into the belief that there exists disembodied mystical forces like “the economy,” “inflation,” or “politics” that prevent them from doing what they take an oath to do.

Those 545 people, and they alone, are responsible.

They, and they alone, have the power.

They, and they alone, should be held accountable by the people who are their bosses.

Provided the voters have the gumption to manage their own employees.

We should vote all of them out of office and clean up their mess!

UN’s Ban Ki Moon,”US ‘deadbeat’ donor”

The corrupt, incorrigible “world body” has the audacity to call it’s biggest contributor a “deadbeat.”  And our public officials agree. 

This body has been ineffective for decades, but continues to extort the taxpayers for support.  This is the same organization that skirts their own sanctions to enrich themselves, sends soldiers on peace-keeping missions and forbids them to shoot, and has given over the Human Rights Council to the oppressive and hateful Islamists of the Organization of Islamic Countries.

US out of the UN – UN out of the US.

WASHINGTON (AP) — A day after his White House meeting with President Barack Obama, U.N. Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon raised congressional hackles by calling the United States a “deadbeat” donor to the world body.

Ban’s criticism Wednesday of the U.N.’s single biggest backer irked some members of the House Foreign Relations Committee. They were generally supportive of his leadership but voiced concern about U.N. efforts in areas from Sudan to Somalia.

“He used the word ‘deadbeat’ when it came to characterizing the United States. I take great umbrage (over) that,” Ileana Ros-Lehtinen, the panel’s senior Republican, said after an hour-long, closed-door meeting. “We certainly contribute a whole lot of U.S. taxpayer dollars to that organization. We do not deserve such a phrase.”

Interviewed after the session, Ban said he had wanted to draw attention to the fact that the U.S. agrees to pay 22 percent of the U.N.’s $4.86 billion operating budget, but is perennially late with its dues — and now is about $1 billion behind on its payments.

Who is the “US” that agreed to this?  I’m thinking it’s probably Carter, but don’t know this. 

That figure is “soon to be $1.6 billion,” Ban emphasized. Asked if he’d used the word ‘deadbeat’ during the meeting, he replied, “Yes, I did — I did,” then laughed mischievously.

Yeah, Ban, hysterical.

Ban also urged Congress to adopt climate change legislation to boost chances for his top goal this year: clinching a global climate deal. The hope is for accord at a U.N.-sponsored conference in Copenhagen in December.

Ban must have gone into business with Al Gore.  A global climate change deal is his top priority this year.

“I believe for the United States it’s a necessity. It will have a very politically important impact on the ongoing negotiation,” he said. “We need the U.S. leadership at this time. (The) whole world is looking at U.S. leadership.”

That’s code for we need your money.  Political necessity or veiled ransom?  

Ban generally got a “very respectful” reception from the House committee, said Rep. Bill Delahunt, D-Mass., who chairs a subcommittee that oversees U.S. participation in the United Nations.

“Clearly they have an interest in the United States meeting its responsibility. In terms of peacekeeping, we’re about $670 million behind, and I think the argument is well-stated,” Delahunt said.

No surprise here.  A  Dem. Congressman says this.  The UN is much more important than the US to many of these people.

He noted America backs U.N. peacekeeping operations — and said it loses credibility if it doesn’t provide financial support. “And at the same time, we have to recognize that there are no American troops involved in the 17 different venues where there are peacekeeping operations,” Delahunt said.

We’re too busy protecting the world from Islamists that are taking over the UN!  We should supply the rope we hang ourselves with.

Ban also met with Rep. Ed Markey, D-Mass., who heads a House global warming panel, and Sen. John Kerry, D-Mass., the Senate Foreign Relations chairman, and other of the committees’ members.

“Around the world, the United Nations is underfunded and overtasked,” Kerry said, standing beside Ban and Sen. Richard Lugar, R-Ind. Kerry said they talked about the need for the U.S. to meet its financial obligations to the U.N. and to adopt climate legislation this year to make cuts in greenhouse gas emissions.

“I think there will be a very clear vision for all the participants in Copenhagen about what’s happening in the United States, and where we’re headed,” Kerry predicted.

That’s why Obama has to rush this through as his approval rating goes down, down, down losing political capital daily.

Ban told Obama his support for climate legislation is “encouraging”, but said 2009 is a “make-or-break” year for the U.N. and its member countries on global warming, Darfur and other prominent conflicts.

Are they noticing that fewer and fewer people are buying the hoax of man-made climate change?

HuffPo.  Just cut and pasted.  These are only from the first 2 pages.  Most were incoherent, unreasoned bashings, but here are a few that caught my attention.

Tolerant people are necessarily intolerant of intolerance as exemplified by the religious right.

I wish that he would just go away. I have found that people are sheep; Dobson had that father like reassuring voice just listen to me and everything will be alright. Adolf Hitler ,Jim Jones, Rush Limbaugh are the same way; think for people who can not think for themselves. There will be another Neo Con to take his place. Quickly

Focus on the Family depends completely on scamming the same gullible fools who vote for Rethuglican right wing whackos, who then proceeded to utterly destroy them economically. Dobson’s source of income is tapped out. Ted Haggard (whose forner church is just a couple miles from FOTF)is selling life insurance fer crissakes.

Guaranteed, Dobson is just another rat jumping off the faith based ship before it sinks.

I live in Colorado Springs about 10 miles from FOTF…..it’s a gigantic obscene monument to religious extremism. The conservatives who run the city even put FOTF on the interstate highway exit sign, like it’s some kind of religious whacko Disneyland.

We hope they go out of business so we can turn their lovely campus into a really sweet shelter for the local homeless. God knows FOTF has never lifted a Christian finger to help them….way too busy cranking out pro-Bush propaganda the last eight years.

I’m just waiting for Dobson to follow Falwell…if you know what I mean..

Of course these guys are all about $$$$

These groups have bundling arms, where small donations from membership are bundled together to make substantial political contributions to the RNC. They are really the only large donor base the GOP has left, as they lost business owners and the bankers.

Focus on the Wealthy White Heterosexual Christian Family does not speak for me or anyone I know. Society in general is moving away from these people. Humanity needs to progress, not to deny evolution and history.

Don’t get too excited kids …. I am sure there is another hate laced extremist just waiting to take his place.”

Other than to know my enemy I really hate going over there. And they say we’re mean-spirited.  We don’t hold a candle to these people. But God loves them, too, so I guess we have to pray for them. We, in direct opposition to some (many ?) at HuffPo, don’t want ANYONE to go to Hell.
