Would somebody please stand up!

I was listening to the radio today as Sean Hannity interviewed  Governor Jindal of Louisiana. Governor Jindal is touted to be a rising star in the Republican Party, even presidential material.  What I heard was a man, perhaps rightfully, blaming the current administration for contributing to the destruction of his coastal lands and the fishing areas that provide a living for thousands of residents of the state he governs.  The red tape and permits and approvals have been strangling efforts to stop the approaching mass. “We wanted to do this…”  “We proposed that….”  “Delays for this….”  “Had to have inspections for that.”

What I wanted to hear, and it was difficult for me to listen to the groveling, was that he was doing what was necessary for the people of the state he was elected to protect.  That is what a true statesman does. That is what one who understands states’ rights vs. the rule of the federal government. That is what someone who understands the Tenth amendment does.  Federal regulations, be damned. I heard nothing even approaching that.

Would the administration send troops to arrest or fine a man who was saving jobs, valuable fishing areas and untold tons of fish and shrimp? For today and years to come?  Someone who was actually accomplishing what we thought BP was supposed to be doing? I say they wouldn’t.  And if they did, what would come of it?  He would be the hero of the people of Louisiana and far beyond!

Though state sovereignty and states’ rights have been cast as racist or pro-slavery and an attempt to step back 150 years, it certainly isn’t. That is the progressive modus operandi – slander and lie.  It was fully intended to be the gatekeeper against a power-hungry federal system. The Tenth Amendment states, simply, that

“The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people.”

Those delegated powers were enumerated in Article 1 Section 8 of the US constitution. Again, stated simply:

The Congress shall have Power To lay and collect Taxes, Duties, Imposts and Excises, to pay the Debts and provide for the common Defence and general Welfare of the United States; but all Duties, Imposts and Excises shall be uniform throughout the United States;

To borrow money on the credit of the United States;

To regulate Commerce with foreign Nations, and among the several States, and with the Indian Tribes;

To establish an uniform Rule of Naturalization, and uniform Laws on the subject of Bankruptcies throughout the United States;

To coin Money, regulate the Value thereof, and of foreign Coin, and fix the Standard of Weights and Measures;

To provide for the Punishment of counterfeiting the Securities and current Coin of the United States;

To establish Post Offices and Post Roads;

To promote the Progress of Science and useful Arts, by securing for limited Times to Authors and Inventors the exclusive Right to their respective Writings and Discoveries;

To constitute Tribunals inferior to the supreme Court;

To define and punish Piracies and Felonies committed on the high Seas, and Offenses against the Law of Nations;

To declare War, grant Letters of Marque and Reprisal, and make Rules concerning Captures on Land and Water;

To raise and support Armies, but no Appropriation of Money to that Use shall be for a longer Term than two Years;

To provide and maintain a Navy;

To make Rules for the Government and Regulation of the land and naval Forces;

To provide for calling forth the Militia to execute the Laws of the Union, suppress Insurrections and repel Invasions;

To provide for organizing, arming, and disciplining, the Militia, and for governing such Part of them as may be employed in the Service of the United States, reserving to the States respectively, the Appointment of the Officers, and the Authority of training the Militia according to the discipline prescribed by Congress;

To exercise exclusive Legislation in all Cases whatsoever, over such District (not exceeding ten Miles square) as may, by Cession of particular States, and the acceptance of Congress, become the Seat of the Government of the United States, and to exercise like Authority over all Places purchased by the Consent of the Legislature of the State in which the Same shall be, for the Erection of Forts, Magazines, Arsenals, dock-Yards, and other needful Buildings; And

To make all Laws which shall be necessary and proper for carrying into Execution the foregoing Powers, and all other Powers vested by this Constitution in the Government of the United States, or in any Department or Officer thereof.

Does anyone see a word about interfering with or even assisting with clean-up efforts on an oil spill or anything else?  Does this mean they can’t help in time of crisis? No, not if Congress appropriates the money.  But, is there anything that states the federal government can prevent a state, a once-sovereign entity, from tending to its own business and needs?  Absolutely not! 

I cannot believe where we are as a country.  I’m but a schlep that has finally awakended to the perils we face – from our own government!  If we can’t rely on a “rising star” to do what’s right and necessary, it’s time to find another star.  Or another Party.  All I see is weakness or maybe political opportunism.  This fall we’ll hear that this administration failed to respond and hampered efforts to clean up the mess.  We’ll hear how they stalled and stammered, which may be true, but that’s beside the point. We’ll hear how we must restore sanity to Washington by electing Republicans.

If they have no more clue about the sovereign rights of states than this, we will get nothing in return for giving them the reigns of power again.  They won’t reign in the agencies like the EPA that are wreaking havoc on clean-up efforts. They had their chance in the first 6 years of the Bush era. Nothing.   They punted.  No, we must move on.  There is not enough time to educate them in things they should already know.  We don’t have enough time to reform a party that doesn’t want to be reformed.

Hollow Shell of Our Fathers

As I sat awake at 2 AM checking the result of the Senate cloture vote on their version of health insurance “reform” (though I’m not sure anyone has actually seen it), I have to think back to my previous post, ‘Line in the Sand.’

It appears the best health care system will be solidly on that slippery slope toward government take-over and its impending mis-management and rationing as it occurs everywhere it exists. No one but those who now have to own this vote believe this will improve care, save money, prohibit paying for the killing of babies, and not cover illegals.  Some polls show well over 50% don’t trust Congress to make ANY changes and a CNN poll showed over 60% didn’t want this as proposed. I’m convinced that most of them know it’s a lie and the endgame is very much different than stated.

But that’s not all.  Despite the coolest summer in our history, thousands of emails exposing the attempts to exclude data that didn’t fit the agenda, thousands of scientists questioning that human activity is causing the earth to warm,  and amidst massive snowstorms in several parts of the globe, a world summit took place that was hell-bent on doing something about this supposed warming. 

Colored by rants from the likes of Hugo Chavez against the evils of capitalism, cheered enthusiastically by the way, there was mostly haggling over how certain “poor” countries could legally steal money from the Americans and Europeans under a global agreement.  Even though no agreement was crafted, our own Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton, proposed giving $100 BILLION per year to the cause. Surely this was under the authorization of the White House.  Better keep those Treasury printing presses on.

Now comes the one that may break the camel’s back.

A member of the House of Representatives again raised the desire to grant a “pathway to citizenship,” a pretty name for amnesty, despite multiple millions of real Americans being out of work and no end to the unemployment line in sight.  He actually said it could help us to do that.   But that is not the real evil that is lurking behind immigration “reform.”

The evil is not the loss of more jobs or the cost of covering their medical expenses.  We’re already experiencing that and have been for many years.  The evil will lie in loss of representation.

Imagine that ten to twenty million (or more – who knows?) illegals, by the waving of the Democrats’ magic wand, are deemed to be citizens of the United States. Yes, people who don’t know or care about our culture or identity, don’t speak our language and soon to receive “free” health coverage, welfare and social security benefits will have a huge say in who will represent us in Congress and especially the White House.  All by sneaking over our wide-open borders.  Which party do you suppose a vast majority will vote for? One that encourages personal responsibilty (or used to) or the one that will give them everything they’ve lacked in their home country, plus some?  The likes of the last two nail-biter elections will never be seen again.  My vote will become worthless. We will never be able to overcome that vote deficit. And all by the stroke of a pen.  Representatives won’t listen to us any more on amnesty than they have on the health care debate. Why should they? There will be a Senator prostitute him/herself once in a while for extra goodies, but they have all the votes needed to pass anything they want.  A proud, smiling, and willing World Citizen is in the White House to sign every piece of insidious legislation.

Amnesty will encourage even more immigration from all over the world, further multiplying its effect.  It means we will never be able to elect a conservative President ever again.  To anyone who thinks that sounds ridiculous, I’m open to hearing how you think that can occur, let alone how you think that it will occur. I argue that it cannot. Benjamin Franklin said,” When the people figure out they can vote themselves money, it heralds the end of the Republic.”  It appears we have reached that tipping point. I pray that I’m wrong and that it’s been just the coincidence of several unfortunate events.

And I finally arrive at the premise of the title.  Are we no longer Americans?  Have we become the hollow shell of the Founding Fathers? Are we like the once-proud British who have given up the fight? Succumbing to One World socialist EU rule and Islamic immigration jihad, the nation that one hundred years ago ruled nearly half the planet is on the verge of losing it’s identity forever. 

America is under assault by those same forces, and to be perfectly honest, I thought the UK was a full 10 years ahead of us.  But the events of 2009 indicate we are much closer than we could have ever imagined.  The world (with the help of the likes of George Soros) has us in their sights and are pulling out all the stops to take us down financially, and as the last bastion of freedom and self-determination.   A New World Order cannot allow our belligerence to stand.  We must submit for the world to be an equitable place for all (meaning subsistence for all but the ruling elites).

We have run out of sand.  The line, if it’s to be drawn again, will have to be somewhat final.  The domestic enemy is one step away from controlling our very essence and our lives through both health “reform” and environmental legislation.  We will be forced to weigh the right amount, eat the right food, exercise the right amount, drive the right vehicles, set our thermostats at the right temperature and on ad infinitum or we will be punished.

Does that sound like America?  Is our patriotism all just bluster?   There are millions of dead and wounded that fought for freedom on foreign lands.  We are about to spit in their faces.  Can we look our soldiers in the eye and say we support them when we won’t even step up to the plate with our cowardly representatives? 

Many very wise people are saying that our economy could go south again. How bad does it have to get before things turn ugly?  For those that are dependent on government for their every need, it may not take much once the checks shrink or disappear.  I’ve spoken with several veterans lately and they tell me explicitly that they see what a powder keg we’re living in. I don’t fear our military, current or former. I also don’t fear LOCAL law enforcement.  They are our neighbors and friends.  They want the same things we want: freedom and opportunity for themselves and, more importantly, for their children and grandchildren. Please take time to talk to them.   They also tell me they took an oath to protect and defend the Constitution and all have said they did not recant.  We should stand shoulder to shoulder for our Constitution and our way of life.  We owe them much, much more.

Wisdom from the ages, for the ages

The more I study the wisdom of those that have gone before us, the more angry it makes me that we who are in line to take the reins of this great country from the generation before are ill-prepared and quite inept to carry the torch of freedom. All of our technological advances and opportunities in leisure have led us to a place of ignorance; ignorance of what has been sacrificed, of what we have been given, and what is required to maintain those freedoms.

Much of the blame can be put on an education system that is promoting an agenda far removed from the original intent of education.  We are teaching our kids to be good, compliant citizens rather than good thinkers. In that, we’ve created a bunch of followers, willing to toe the government line.

We must, however, share some of the blame. The desire for financial gain, as well as the insatiable appetite of government taking the fruits of our labors, have taken mothers out of the home and placed them in the workplace. Both parents are working long days, shuttling kids to activities thus leaving the nuclear family in tatters.  Mayberry, this ain’t. 

This has been by design by those who think it unfair that we enjoy so much while many millions around the world live in squalor or somewhere in between.  They are an elitist class that suffers little themselves and will never live under the systems they design for everyone else.  Though the endeavor seems noble, it is quite sinister. It is theft on one end and a destroyer of the innate need to produce for ourselves and our families at the other.  The rich, not those who live off trust funds but rather that which they’ve produced and created, become poor and the poor remain poor.  Only those in power remain unaffected.

It’s time for those of us who have always pulled the weight to demand our rights and freedoms once more.  If we go much farther down this road I fear it will be irreversible but by violent revolution.  It does not have to be that way.  What will you do? What is it worth to you? What will the America in which your kids and grandkids live look like?

We have the right to demand real change.  We have the God of Heaven on our side, as He created it and allowed us to experience freedoms and prosperity unheard of in human history when it comes to the general population.  We have experienced freedom and now are getting a taste of what it’s like to have them taken from us. Our selfishness, in this case a good kind of selfishness, should be a great motivator.  We hold the keys to our future right now.   

 As advanced and intelligent as we consider ourselves to be, most of us wouldn’t have been deemed  worthy to sit among men such as those  quoted below, let alone be counted as one of them.  But the beauty of America is that the groundwork has been laid.  All we have to do is learn and apply theses principles.  Please read them, take them to heart, and join us in this battle.

The Tide is turning

Wow, I miss pontificating here, but the time spent with the Cincinnati 912 Project and the Tea Party is giving me the hope that we CAN and WILL stop the madness in DC.  All the efforts of Patriots across the US seem to be paying off. 

We may have dodged the immediate bullet on health care “reform” but we will never stop and now we will push back . Those that have so willingly attached themselves to the Obama agenda are very certainly marked people, in the political sense – for you Lefties who take any resistance to your socialist agenda as physically dangerous.

The real America has awakened and we are not only going to work very hard to remove those that hate American principles, but replace them with people that will begin to reverse the process.

Everyone has now seen the real Obama, not the media version of him and most don’t like what we see.  The take-over of private business and this attempt at taking over health care and strapping us with environmental nonsense is being seen for what it is – the beginnings of a totalitarian regime. Under Obama?  Maybe not, but how long until the next “One” comes along?

We pledge our lives, our fortunes and our sacred honor to maintain this last bastion of freedom for our children and grandchildren.  Even for those around the world who have longed to live half as free as we have. 

God continue to show mercy and favor to your people.

Obama’s DHS – “We are all terrorists now.”

It’s time to give them something to fear.

As Patrick Henry said, “The Constitution is not an instrument for government to restrain the people, it is an instrument for the people to restrain the government – lest it come to dominate our lives and interests.”

Thomas Jefferson said, “What country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that they preserve the spirit of resistance. Let them take arms.”  It’s not yet that time, and God help us that we never get to that point, but the wisdom of the founders came from experience.

So there were some objections by civil liberties officials in DHS to the report issued last week placing over half the country on a watchlist.  Of course the report still went out.  I really believe those of us that are on the right need to be the voices of reason and civility, but I’m afraid this will be another rant much like the one last week about the Apologist-in-Chief. 

Most of us are aware of the report issued from Homeleand Security stating that pro-lifers, believers in the Constitution with all its gun ownership, free speech, right to assemble, rights of states OVER the federal govt., etc. , and – most egregiously – veterans who have risked life and limb, should be watched for increased possibility of violent actions against the federal government.

Because of the  outrage from normal citizens who have an opinion contrary to the “enlightened,” President Obama has “distanced himself” from his own department on this report.

Again, Mr. President, you are showing yourself to be inept at making appointments to your cabinet to implement your policies and have no control what your administration does.  Or you don’t have the political will or perceived mandate to stand up and actually say what you believe,  preferring to hide behind those doing your dirty work.  Both apply, but you and your Marxo-Socialist handlers know that if you tell the American people that you hate and distrust half of them, MORE THAN OUR SWORN FOREIGN ENEMIES – judging by your appeasing actions with Castro and Iran and Syria, etc), your meteoric political rise may come to a screeching halt under the boots of the patriots you so despise.

Is it coincidence that this report came out right before the Tea Parties? Your mind-numbed sycophants and groupies may believe it coincidence, but we ain’t buyin’ that any more than anything else that comes from this administration.  Your Marxist Mentor Alinsky’s Rules for Radicals says the end justifies the means – truth be damned. 

I’m sure you made it a point to avoid any sight of the tea parties for fear of making your knees quake, but if you have ANY thoughts on a positive legacy, you would be wise to look out the window and see the 50+ million potential terrorists that surround you and your minions.  Your complicit media friends don’t have the luxury of hiding behind others as you do. They have fully vested themselves in your success, and we know they sense the real possibility of your administration’s collapse and have  had to ramp up the propaganda. Their readership / viewership is falling and failing at a disastrous clip and they can’t figure out why.  Demeaning and slandering well over half your potential customers doesn’t seem like much of a business plan.  But then again, the behemoth that is our government will not let their propaganda arm fail (see my post recent post here

We know you don’t pull the strings, but you are the face of the monster and you are growing uglier with the passing of each day. 

Come on, America! This is our country and we have every right to take it back from the bastardizing politicians that have run rough-shod over one of the greatest documents ever written, the US Constitution.  This has been occurring for decades and our time is now!

Who should join the fight?
1.  Anyone who believes the Constitution is our basis for governance.
2. Anyone who goes to church since most churches, at least any worth their salt, are vehemently opposed to the killing of human babies.
3. Veterans of any or even no conflict, and their family members.
4. Democrats – see above
5. Republicans – see above
6. Living, breathing humans
7. Those who enjoy freedom in the greatest country on Earth.
If this list doesn’t constitute a huge majority, the battle is already lost. 

What will YOU do about the daily,  incessant attacks on our freedoms?
The Tea Parties have to be the beginning and we have to stay “in it to win it.”
The Left is laughing at us – who will have the last laugh?

Pres. Obama, Apologist-in-Chief, speak for yourself!

Obama is once again lapping up the reverence of the masses of Europe while spitting in the faces of our soldiers who saved their backsides in World War ll, had their backs for decades and continue to carry almost the entire weight of the “war-on-man-caused-disasters.”

Apologizing for the worlwide economic chaos, as if America is responsible for the ineptitude and corruption of their government (in one respect we are – so quit voting these dirtbags back into office! Even your own.), when the rest of his socialist friends in Europe were spending their countries into the same mess is just one more thing to add fuel to my fire.

His threat to bamboozle the Iranians and now North Korea have fallen embarrassingly short of his successful efforts with organizing communities.

Mr. Obama, these enemy countries aren’t on your payroll like ACORN and all your other neighborhood thug minions.  They see and smell weakness and it comes from YOU.

They threaten to destroy us with newly developed nuclear weapons and you want to unilaterally disarm the free world. Insanity! They have BOTH laughed at your attempts to “communitize” them.  Interesting your friends in the media don’t report their derision of you.

You are WAY out of your league and America will pay dearly for the ignorance of those who thought Change was automatically a good thing.

The country is awakening and we know your intentions. Your naivete, or worse traiterous, actions to tear America down will meet fierce opposition and it is building fast.  We the People are educating, amassing and motivated. Look out your window on Tax Day and see who you’re up against!

We kept telling ourselves during the campaign that this man was a Marxist, but how is it that we still can’t believe he would actually do all this stuff?  Perhaps we thought there were enough real patriotic Americans, even in the Democrat Party, that would stand in the way of anything like this.  I guess we were wrong. Watch it and weep.  The liberals in education and the media have finally succeeded in brainwashing enough of the younger generations to do their bidding.  Saul Alinsky would be proud.

It’s all about 545 People – a must read

Politicians are the only people in the world who create problems and then campaign against them.

Have you ever wondered, if both the Democrats and the Republicans are against deficits, WHY do we have deficits?

Have you ever wondered, if all the politicians are against inflation and high taxes, WHY do we have inflation and high taxes?

You and I don’t propose a federal budget. The president does.

You and I don’t have the Constitutional authority to vote on appropriations. The House of Representatives does.

You and I don’t write the tax code, Congress does.

You and I don’t set fiscal policy, Congress does.

You and I don’t control monetary policy, the Federal Reserve Bank does.

One hundred senators, 435 congressmen, one president, and nine Supreme Court justices 545 human beings out of the 300 million are directly, legally, morally, and individually responsible for the domestic problems that plague this country.

I excluded the members of the Federal Reserve Board because that problem was created by the Congress. In 1913, Congress delegated its Constitutional duty to provide a sound currency to a federally chartered, but private, central bank.

I excluded all the special interests and lobbyists for a sound reason. They have no legal authority. They have no ability to coerce a senator, a congressman, or a president to do one cotton-pickingthing. I don’t care if they offer a politician $1 million dollars in cash.

The politician has the power to accept or reject it. No matter what the lobbyist promises, it is the legislator’s responsibility to determine how he votes.

Those 545 human beings spend much of their energy convincing you that what they did is not their fault. They cooperate in this common con regardless of party.

What separates a politician from a normal human being is an excessive amount of gall. No normal human being would have the gall of a Speaker, who stood up and criticized the President for creating deficits. The president can only propose a budget. He cannot force the Congress to accept it.

The Constitution, which is the supreme law of the land, gives sole responsibility to the House of Representatives for originating and approving appropriations and taxes. Who is the speaker of the House? Nancy Pelosi. She is the leader of the majority party.

She and fellow House members, not the president, can approve any budget they want. If the president vetoes it, they can pass it over his veto if they agree to.

It seems inconceivable to me that a nation of 300 million can not replace 545 people who stand convicted — by present facts — of incompetence and irresponsibility. I can’t think of a single domestic problem that is not traceable directly to those 545 people. When you fully grasp the plain truth that 545 people exercise the power of the federal government, then it must follow that what exists is what they want to exist.

If the tax code is unfair, it’s because they want it unfair.

If the budget is in the red, it’s because they want it in the red .

If the Army & Marines are in IRAQ , it’s because they want them in IRAQ

If they do not receive social security but are on an elite retirement plan not available to the people, it’s because they want it that way.

There are no insoluble government problems.

Do not let these 545 people shift the blame to bureaucrats, whom they hire and whose jobs they can abolish; to lobbyists, whose gifts and advice they can reject; to regulators, to whom they give the power to regulate and from whom they can take this power. Above all, do not let them con you into the belief that there exists disembodied mystical forces like “the economy,” “inflation,” or “politics” that prevent them from doing what they take an oath to do.

Those 545 people, and they alone, are responsible.

They, and they alone, have the power.

They, and they alone, should be held accountable by the people who are their bosses.

Provided the voters have the gumption to manage their own employees.

We should vote all of them out of office and clean up their mess!

flag-1Change has come to America and it is frightening. The speed at which the Left has taken their mandate for change is breath-taking.  Daily there are hundreds of billions, and now trillions, being thrown at problems of (mostly) governments’ own doing.  It’s nearly impossible to keep up, let alone get a handle on it all.

That, my friends, is by design.  The Soros Left has a plan to destroy the Republican Party and implement new financial and social orders.  His Open Societies Institute gives a humble image of righteous endeavors, but his hatred for what America stands for is what drives him.

Through networks of nongovernmental organizations, Soros intends to ruin the presidency of George W. Bush “by any legal means necessary” and knock America off its global pedestal. “His view of America is so negative,” says Sen. Joe Lieberman, who, like Gen. David Petraeus, has been a target of Soros’ electoral “philanthropy.” “The places he’s put his money are . . . so destructive that it unsettles me.” Soros’ aim seems to be to make the U.S. just another client state easily controlled by the United Nations and other one-world groups where he has lots of friends.

Anyone who has been paying any attention knows who George Soros is and I didn’t intend to write about him, though a very wide road leads to him. 

 The reality is that Barack Obama, a radical the likes of Soros, is now the President of these, currently, United States.  This President has done more in the last 5 weeks to forward the Soros Socialist/Marxist program than the sum total of the previous 30 years.

In the past 5 weeks Obama has promised to give away$800 billion, $410 billion, $275 billion of OUR MONEY and now he presents a nearly $4 trillion “responsible” budget.  What is responsible about any of this?

Folks, this man is lying and evil.  He is taking us on the fast track to the failure that has been coming slowly.  He’s setting aside $634 billion that we DON’T HAVE for a Universal Health Care System that we DON’T HAVE. 

There are at least 2 scenarios that could be in play.  The first is the lockbox line of bull we always hear about, such as Social Security, which eveyone knows is full of IOUs.  The second is much more diabolical and involves the spending of money, again, that we don’t have on a huge program that has not been authorized.  The word tyranny begins to come into focus.

As Obama is conferring rights to illegals and terrorists, as just today he decreed that at least some of the Gitmo detainees will receive criminal trials with OUR hard fought rights, his liberal comrades in the Senate are plotting to “Hush Rush (and Hannity, Levin, Beck, Ingraham and any other opposition voices). Is this what our brave soldiers had in mind when they stared death in the face, and in the case of hundreds of thousands over the centuries, gave all?  The Founding Fathers are spinning in their graves.  The benefactors of our insane catch-and-release policy, yes, those who are sworn to the death to destroy us, will now have access to publicly funded defense attorneys and will make a mockery of our legal system. Osama and Ahmadinejad are having a very hearty “un-Islamic” laugh. 

The Senate approved a vote for DC today and has sent the bill to the House for debate and a vote.  The Constitution says representation is reserved to the States. Two Senators can’t be far behind.  That’s 2 more GUARANTEED DEMOCRAT…never mind, the Constitution is irrelevant. And wasn’t Orrin hatch, a co-conspirator co-sponsor of this fraudulent deal, a one-time chairman of the judiciary committee?  I think that position has something to do with the LAW and the CONSTITUTION! 

We all know what the problem is.  Now, what are our options to take back our country?  There are many who are calling for peaceful and symbolic protest designed to get the attention of Washington to say, “Hey, we’re mad as hell and we’re not going to take it anymore!”  Another is the sovereignty movement in some Statehouses to tell Washington to back off.  I’ll address the third in a moment.

The National Tea Parties set up for tomorrow, Feb. 27th, though well-intentioned, I’m afraid will fall short simply because of the lack of time to build large enough gatherings nationwide.  My fear is that the MSM will film places where there are only a handful and show them as proof that America is really behind Obama’s agenda.  We could look foolish to the ignorant masses, some of which may be experiencing the first pangs of buyer’s remorse.  It could put doubt in their minds as to the validity of their concerns.

This is not to say that these are wrong or shouldn’t be done, but it will need to be a continuing movement to build momentum.  I know there’s a “We the People” march planned for the end of May in DC and I encourage everyone to consider taking their families and being a part.  See the details at www.resistnet.org.

I personally believe it is up to our state legislatures to rein in the addicts in DC.  The 10th Amendment to the Constitution, (I know, I know) specifically gives the bulk of rights, except for the few specifically enumerated to the federal government, to the States.  Until this president gets his hands on a couple Supreme Court nominees, the Court should uphold those rights.  We should all be encouraged by this movement and we should get 100% behind it.

The third path to taking our country back, and the least desireable, is through taking up of arms.  To be totally honest, we have to acknowledge that the Founders knew this to be an option preserved for future generations. They had just come through just such a successful revolution and knew well the tyranny that an over-reaching government can impose upon its citizenry.

Thomas Jefferson said, “What country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that they preserve the spirit of resistance. Let them take arms.”  Was this just to show how clean they were or how shiny the barrel and stock were?

James Madison: “The accumulation of all powers, legislative, executive, and judiciary, in the same hands, whether of one, a few, or many, and whether hereditary, self-appointed, or elective, may justly be pronounced the very definition of tyranny.”

Ben Franklin:  “Any society willing to give up a little freedom for a little security will deserve neither and lose both.”

And a favorite from Patrick Henry: “Is life so dear, or peace so sweet, as to be purchased at the price of chains and slavery? Forbid it, Almighty God! I know not what course others may take; but as for me, give me liberty or give me death! ”

This is not an endorsement for revolution of this kind, as I fear one who leads it may be worse, ala Hitler.  If this is the course America is forced to take, we should be thankful that the gun owners are primarily on our side.  (Which side are the gun banners on again? )

This is exactly why the Founders put the right to bear arms second only to the right to free speech, as mentioned earlier, another favorite target of the Left.  Without the 2nd the first would be difficult to defend.

I will close with this.  America, know who you are and what you stand for before choosing the path to take.  Do we believe in Providence and self-determination or in “government benevolence?”  Will we help our brothers in need or fend only for ourselves?  I pray we are willing to suffer some hard times to preserve what  millions from around the world have only dreamt of for over a century… being free in the most benevolent, beautiful and blessed country God ever created.
