Hollow Shell of Our Fathers

Posted by foundersfreedom on December 21, 2009

As I sat awake at 2 AM checking the result of the Senate cloture vote on their version of health insurance “reform” (though I’m not sure anyone has actually seen it), I have to think back to my previous post, ‘Line in the Sand.’

It appears the best health care system will be solidly on that slippery slope toward government take-over and its impending mis-management and rationing as it occurs everywhere it exists. No one but those who now have to own this vote believe this will improve care, save money, prohibit paying for the killing of babies, and not cover illegals.  Some polls show well over 50% don’t trust Congress to make ANY changes and a CNN poll showed over 60% didn’t want this as proposed. I’m convinced that most of them know it’s a lie and the endgame is very much different than stated.

But that’s not all.  Despite the coolest summer in our history, thousands of emails exposing the attempts to exclude data that didn’t fit the agenda, thousands of scientists questioning that human activity is causing the earth to warm,  and amidst massive snowstorms in several parts of the globe, a world summit took place that was hell-bent on doing something about this supposed warming.

Colored by rants from the likes of Hugo Chavez against the evils of capitalism, cheered enthusiastically by the way, there was mostly haggling over how certain “poor” countries could legally steal money from the Americans and Europeans under a global agreement.  Even though no agreement was crafted, our own Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton, proposed giving $100 BILLION per year to the cause. Surely this was under the authorization of the White House.  Better keep those Treasury printing presses on.

Now comes the one that may break the camel’s back.

A member of the House of Representatives again raised the desire to grant a “pathway to citizenship,” a pretty name for amnesty, despite multiple millions of real Americans being out of work and no end to the unemployment line in sight.  He actually said it could help us to do that.   But that is not the real evil that is lurking behind immigration “reform.”

The evil is not the loss of more jobs or the cost of covering their medical expenses.  We’re already experiencing that and have been for many years.  The evil will lie in loss of representation.

Imagine that ten to twenty million (or more – who knows?) illegals, by the waving of the Democrats’ magic wand, are deemed to be citizens of the United States. Yes, people who don’t know or care about our culture or identity, don’t speak our language and soon to receive “free” health coverage, welfare and social security benefits will have a huge say in who will represent us in Congress and especially the White House.  All by sneaking over our wide-open borders.  Which party do you suppose a vast majority will vote for? One that encourages personal responsibilty (or used to) or the one that will give them everything they’ve lacked in their home country, plus some?  The likes of the last two nail-biter elections will never be seen again.  My vote will become worthless. We will never be able to overcome that vote deficit. And all by the stroke of a pen.  Representatives won’t listen to us any more on amnesty than they have on the health care debate. Why should they? There will be a Senator prostitute him/herself once in a while for extra goodies, but they have all the votes needed to pass anything they want.  A proud, smiling, and willing World Citizen is in the White House to sign every piece of insidious legislation.

Amnesty will encourage even more immigration from all over the world, further multiplying its effect.  It means we will never be able to elect a conservative President ever again.  To anyone who thinks that sounds ridiculous, I’m open to hearing how you think that can occur, let alone how you think that it will occur. I argue that it cannot. Benjamin Franklin said,” When the people figure out they can vote themselves money, it heralds the end of the Republic.”  It appears we have reached that tipping point. I pray that I’m wrong and that it’s been just the coincidence of several unfortunate events.

And I finally arrive at the premise of the title.  Are we no longer Americans?  Have we become the hollow shell of the Founding Fathers? Are we like the once-proud British who have given up the fight? Succumbing to One World socialist EU rule and Islamic immigration jihad, the nation that one hundred years ago ruled nearly half the planet is on the verge of losing it’s identity forever.

America is under assault by those same forces, and to be perfectly honest, I thought the UK was a full 10 years ahead of us.  But the events of 2009 indicate we are much closer than we could have ever imagined.  The world (with the help of the likes of George Soros) has us in their sights and are pulling out all the stops to take us down financially, and as the last bastion of freedom and self-determination.   A New World Order cannot allow our belligerence to stand.  We must submit for the world to be an equitable place for all (meaning subsistence for all but the ruling elites).

We have run out of sand.  The line, if it’s to be drawn again, will have to be somewhat final.  The domestic enemy is one step away from controlling our very essence and our lives through both health “reform” and environmental legislation.  We will be forced to weigh the right amount, eat the right food, exercise the right amount, drive the right vehicles, set our thermostats at the right temperature and on ad infinitum or we will be punished.

Does that sound like America?  Is our patriotism all just bluster?   There are millions of dead and wounded that fought for freedom on foreign lands.  We are about to spit in their faces.  Can we look our soldiers in the eye and say we support them when we won’t even step up to the plate with our cowardly representatives?

Many very wise people are saying that our economy could go south again. How bad does it have to get before things turn ugly?  For those that are dependent on government for their every need, it may not take much once the checks shrink or disappear.  I’ve spoken with several veterans lately and they tell me explicitly that they see what a powder keg we’re living in. I don’t fear our military, current or former. I also don’t fear LOCAL law enforcement.  They are our neighbors and friends.  They want the same things we want: freedom and opportunity for themselves and, more importantly, for their children and grandchildren. Please take time to talk to them.   They also tell me they took an oath to protect and defend the Constitution and all have said they did not recant.  We should stand shoulder to shoulder for our Constitution and our way of life.  We owe them much, much more.
