Good riddance, Senator Specter. Snowe and Collins – care to join him?

Posted by foundersfreedom on April 30, 2009

We will weep nary a tear for his departure. The Left will tout it as a coup, but we rejoice that one of the “placeholders” is gone.  He was a RINO through and through.  The big tent really did us wonders, didn’t it? That whole marketing plan was a disaster since it just diluted the message.  I personally never signed onto it.

I hope Rick Santorum learned his lesson. I have to say I lost a LOT of respect for Rick when he backed the odious Specter over Toomey in the last primary. When the Republicans thought it better to retain seats rather than to maintain principles, that’s when their party was over.

The bleeding continues as it appears the elitist Republicans think this is a terrible loss – one step closer to giving the Dems the coveted filibuster-proof majority. Did it really matter?  Specter, Snowe, Collins, Lugar and even my own belatedly retiring  Voinovich can usually be counted on to side with the lockstep Dems to forward THEIR agenda.  Bi-partisanship is a one-way street in DC and the inept Rs travel that road enough to make a rut in it. Losers.

The Tea Parties, of which I am a vehement supporter, are the warning shot to the Rs to listen to us or get out of the way.  We will find those that actually adhere to conservative principles beyond personal gain.

Payback time for the Unions…and “We the People” get the bill. The Obama (non)nationalization plan continues…

Posted by foundersfreedom on April 28, 2009

The President must have learned a lot when meeting with Chavez recently.  It appears he’s stepped up the nationalization of more American companies, but of course he’s not because he and his friends in the media said so.

The unapologetic (except when it comes to all of America’s “transgressions” to the rest of the fawning world),  fraudulent Obama administration is nationalizing American companies and giving huge amounts of ownership to the unions.  In two stories just today We the People own half of GM and the UAW gets 39%. The UAW gets 55% of Chrysler.  Did the companies do this willingly?  I can assure you they did NOT.  The Obama administration is “changing” the game.  The administration knew they would be able to do whatever they wanted once they loaned the money.   It may have fooled the typical Obama voter…

Under threat from the Treasury, the new Mob bosses in Washington, and amid the real possibility of bankruptcy, both companies are capitulating to the their new Masters in DC and the same unions that have aided them in the demise of their own industry.  What a great business plan.  A selfish union and a totally inept and inefficient government will “turn things around.”  Have we lost our minds?

The Leftists who have captured and conquered Washington, DC have insured that their voting bloc will NEVER suffer loss.  The lock-step unions are too big to fail for the Democrat Party.  Read below to see where the unions would have the force of government behind them to force non-union suppliers to unionize if they want to stay in business.

Remember, since “we” own it, we will be responsible for keeping all these union people working whether they make anything we want to buy, or whether they make ANYTHING AT ALL.  Get it?   As more and more people lose their jobs to this down economy (yes, the same people who now own GM), the union just got a “free ride” card and a multi-billion dollar  company to boot.

Civility is going to be hard to maintain as America crumbles under this assault on freedom and capitalism.  God help us.

From the WSJ.  Emphasis mine.

The government could be exposed to a host of conflicts and potential unintended consequences if it ends up — as now appears likely — with a controlling stake in General Motors Corp.

Under GM’s latest restructuring plan, the U.S. would get at least a 50% stake in the largest Detroit auto maker. Even without a majority stake, the government was able to use its muscle in March to oust GM Chief Executive Rick Wagoner. But such a major holding would turn GM into a sort of Government Motors, making the federal government the company’s de facto boss and bank lender.

A direct stake could create other uncomfortable conflicts: The Obama administration would be setting emissions and mileage standards for cars in Washington while having to implement them in Detroit. It also would make the government a direct partner of the United Auto Workers, which would get a 39% stake in the company under GM’s latest blueprint for survival.

A final GM plan is still many months away, and early reaction from bondholders suggests that the plan won’t come together in its current form. But even if it flops, the proposal reveals that the government, in close consultation with GM, is prepared to become more deeply immersed in the operations and rehabilitation of the auto maker.

Both the Bush and Obama administrations have grappled with how to shore up the economy without getting directly involved in running companies. They were unable to avoid an entanglement with insurer American International Group Inc., in which the government now owns an 80% stake after committing more than $170 billion in emergency relief. It will soon own more than a third of banking giant Citigroup Inc., with which it has had a sometimes-fraught relationship.

But in contrast with those cases, the GM proposal comes as part of an all-out administration effort to restructure the U.S. auto industry, including the country’s third-largest car company, Chrysler LLC.

“The big question is whether the government, as a shareholder, will be focused on GM making money, or it making clean and green cars, or whatever other political agenda they have for the auto space,” says Peter Kaufman, president and head of restructuring at investment bank Gordian Group LLC.

Administration officials dismissed suggestions that they were preparing to nationalize GM, saying that the plan put forward Monday was preliminary. “We’re supportive of this offer and of this process, but no final decisions have been made,” said one administration official.

Another official said the administration has long planned to swap the government’s debt holdings in GM for a large equity stake, but has no intentions of running the company.

Under the GM proposal to bondholders, the government would forgive $10 billion in loans to the company in return for a 50% stake, while GM’s tens of thousands of public bondholders would be asked to surrender around $24 billion in bond debt for a 10% stake.

GM continues to pursue two tracks for its turnaround — one outside bankruptcy court and one inside. One person involved in the situation says a late-May Chapter 11 bankruptcy filing by GM is “99% likely now, maybe higher.”

In either case, the government would be in a position to set policy for the company. GM is one of the largest sellers of full-size trucks and sport-utility vehicles in the world, vehicles that are notorious for fuel inefficiency. Yet such products, which include the Chevy Silverado pick-up and Cadillac Escalade SUV, have always been among the company’s most profitable. That could present the government with a painful trade-off.

Even after its restructuring, GM is expected to remain one of the country’s largest employers of unionized workers, and it also does business with thousands of union and non-union employers.

That raises such questions as whether the government would allow GM to buy parts from a supplier that has resisted organizing efforts by the UAW or other labor unions, or whether it would encourage suppliers to support UAW organizing efforts — as GM had done for several years at the union’s urging.

The Treasury’s current plan is to hold its GM ownership stake in some form of trust, say people briefed on the situation. The administration’s auto team is now drafting documents that lay out how that trust and its government-appointed trustees will manage the government’s majority stake.

Still unclear is how long the government would maintain its ownership, these people say. There are differing views in the administration, with some advocating a quick sale of the stake while others argue the government needs to take a long-term view and hold GM for a long time to get a better price. One administration official said the government would likely sell its shares gradually, but only after GM had regained its financial moorings and rebuilt its reputation.

“This ownership thing is a few-year process, three years maybe, until auto sales come back,” said one person familiar with the matter.

How and when to sell GM and whether to consider private-equity firms or foreign auto makers as potential buyers presents another set of complications.

People familiar with the situation say that for now the government appears to have decided not to solicit buyers for equity stakes in a new GM, because it doesn’t have all the information investors would want before making what would likely be a multibillion-dollar commitment.

The government is still formulating financial projections and a capital structure for the new GM, which would be slimmed down to just a few brands—most likely Chevrolet, Cadillac, Buick and possibly GMC, as a niche truck brand, these people say. They say documents circulating in Washington show a radically smaller GM.

“Investing in GM would involve a couple billion dollars, which is obviously not an impulse buy, so you’d want to analyze it in depth,” said investor Wilbur Ross, who owns a large auto-parts supplier called International Automotive Components. “I’d think at some price there’d be some interest, especially as you remove debt and combine” that with relief from retiree health-care obligations and real wage-and-benefit concessions.

Economists point to the government’s intervention in the U.S. railroad industry in the 1970s as the best corollary to what may now happen at GM. In that case, the government created the Consolidated Rail Corp. in 1976 to absorb rail lines from two bankruptcy carriers. The company was sold to private investors 11 years later.

Shock and Awe! Dems acting like hypocrites. ..Wait, that’s not news.

Posted by foundersfreedom on April 23, 2009

From Fox News comes this story.  Seems the Democrats are being hypocrites again.  Nothing new here.    Politicians, Democrats especially, are good at pointing fingers at everyone but themselves. Why do we keep voting them back into office?  We’ll have to wait and see if the list gets released, won’t we?

How in the world can people with so much power be so spineless?!  Can’t a liberal take a stand on anything besides abortion and gay marriage? Other than those two issues they have to squirm and wiggle their way through.  Like their “support” for the military – unless or until a soldier kills somebody, then they’re murderers.  They claim to be in the fight against the barbaric Islamic terrorists, except of course when they are in our custody. Then the poor terrorists, who have no compunction against blowing up children or setting live people on fire, should be afforded rights and privileges. Who’s side are they on?

They smoke and steam over bonuses they themselves put into writing.  They say they’re for the working man while accepting millions of lobbyist dollars from huge global corporations.  They accuse conservatives of being intolerant and bigoted, yet smear everyone who doesn’t spout the liberal dogma. They agreed that Saddam Hussein had WMDs (of course he did -for any idiots out there that said it was a lie – he killed thousands of Kurds with some) until they find the cover from the media to backpedal from it for political purposes – AND GET AWAY WITH IT!

Here’s the whole article.

Republicans, hoping to turn the tables on Democrats who are open to prosecuting Bush-era lawyers for justifying “enhanced” interrogation techniques, are seeking to reveal the names of those lawmakers who were briefed on the tactics as much as seven years ago.

FOX News has learned there were more than 30 meetings and briefings with members of Congress on the subject since 2002.

The first such briefing dealt with the interrogation of Abu Zubaydah, the Al Qaeda operations chief who ran the training camps in Afghanistan where the Sept. 11 hijackers were trained. Sources said California Rep. Nancy Pelosi, now the speaker of the House, attended the meeting with then-Rep. Porter Goss, R-Fla. (who later became CIA director), and she did not raise any objections.

The briefings were given to the chairmen and ranking members of the intelligence committees in the House and Senate until 2006. That could cover Sen. John Rockefeller, W.Va., and Rep. Jane Harman, Calif., both Democrats, as well as Sen. Pat Roberts, Kan., Sen. Lindsey Graham, S.C., Sen. Richard Shelby, Ala., and Rep. Pete Hoekstra, Mich., all Republicans.

Defenders of the interrogation program note that if Congress had wanted to kill the program, all it had to do was withhold funding, which didn’t happen.

Hoekstra, the ranking Republican on the House Intelligence Committee, has personally requested from Director of National Intelligence Dennis Blair an unclassified list of names of all members of Congress who attended those briefings, complete with dates and locations.

He told the list will probably show many members were briefed “early and often.”

“The purpose of this, of course, is to underscore the fact that people in Congress knew or were aware of the program, its details, and they approved of this program and authorized its funding,” said Jamal Ware, spokesman for Republicans on the House Intelligence Committee.

Republicans have criticized President Obama for opening the door prosecuting Justice Department lawyers who drafted the so-called “torture memos,” which authorized harsh interrogation methods, including waterboarding. But they’ve also raised the point that if Democrats pursue charges against the lawyers, they’d be shielding others involved in the interrogation program.

“They can’t blame the politicians in Congress who approved these tactics in 2002 because these are their friends,” Rep. Lamar Smith, ranking Republican on the House Judiciary Committee, said in an e-mail. “So they’re placing the blame on Bush administration officials, political appointees.”

Attorney General Eric Holder said Wednesday that he would follow the law with regard to the interrogation program.

A number of Democrats have defended the call for probes.

“One way or another there needs to be a careful review and a public accounting of these troublesome policies,” Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid said in a statement Wednesday, adding that an ongoing Senate Intelligence Committee probe should yield a lot of the answers Americans are looking for. “And I think issues of prosecution are principally the responsibility of the Justice Department to evaluate.”

Sen. Patrick Leahy, D-Vt., has been pushing for an independent, bipartisan commission to investigate.

“I’m not one who feels we should turn the page if you haven’t read the page,” Leahy said.

But while some aides back the idea of an independent, 9/11 Commission-style body to investigate, FOX News has learned that Obama opposes the idea.

Rahm Emanuel must have seen a crisis here he didn’t want to waste, since Obama just said last week that he didn’t think these same people should be investigated.  Either that, or as Glenn Beck said this morning, this has to be in the news to distract from the tricks they’re trying to play on us on a daily basis.  Keep your eyes open and engaged!

Mass suicide – do it for the planet!

Posted by foundersfreedom on April 20, 2009

The EPA this week declared that breathing is harmful for the planet.  The report, which was totally expected and widely and eagerly anticipated by American conservatives, calls for the creation of a new government agency that will oversee the mass suicides that will need to take place in order for the Earth to get back to its natural temperature.

Hundreds of thousands of concerned Americans have already signed up to “give it up for the planet” and will be notified by mail when they will have to report for their extermination.  Those numbers are expected to skyrocket now that this dire report has been issued.  Most of the high-profile applicants / volunteers come from Hollywood where they will put their money where their mouth is.  There’s even some concern that civil unrest may become an issue as the actor / activists vie for top billing as the first to do what’s right.  New York City is second, but still considerably behind Tinseltown.

“We thought that cutting back to 2 limos and a Hummer for our entourages and hangers-on would have been enough,” said one actor who wished to remain anonymous. “But now this.  We even adjust the holding temperature in all three of our houses when nobody’s there. This MUST be serious.”

But putting a bit of a damper on this new call to action, what some even call patriotic, a few in Hollywood are concerned with what might happen to the industry once the big draws have been laid to rest.  The absence of names like Penn, Sarandon, Baldwin, Cruise, Paltrow, Depp, Hanks, or any number of other blockbuster names could put many union and guildmembers out of work.  Word on the street is that income from movies is what has made employment possible for the “behind the scenes folks,” something that hasn’t really been discovered until now.  For that reason many are willing to chance the besmirching of their reputations and renege on their commitment to the cause to help their less famous co-workers keep their homes and feed their families.  One household name said, “It would be pure selfishness for me to kill myself saving the planet, and leave my friends in the lurch. I just can’t do that to them.  If it means I’ll never work here again…so be it.”

Body bags will begin showing up in Los Angeles, Chicago, New York, Miami, Boston and Houston in the next couple months.  What will be done with all the bodies?  Many have poo-poohed the idea of burial or cremation as that will only take up precious land or pollute the air even more.  The preferred option is to be thrown into the oceans so that wildlife can benefit.  Zoo animals have very strict diets and as such will not be candidates for a treat.  Feeding dead humans to land-based wildlife is still under consideration.  A government panel is weighing the pluses and minuses of the real possibilty that coyotes, wolves, bobcats and even dogs may desire more human flesh once they’ve had a taste of it.  On the one hand it’s random and violent, but on the other it will further ease the strain on the planet.

Time will tell how many will have to die to get that half degree back.  To get your name on the list visit or call 1-8-earthwhacko and dial ext. 666.

Read the whole article at the NY Times, home of  “all the news the Democrats want made up.”

Obama’s DHS – “We are all terrorists now.”

Posted by foundersfreedom on April 17, 2009

It’s time to give them something to fear.

As Patrick Henry said, “The Constitution is not an instrument for government to restrain the people, it is an instrument for the people to restrain the government – lest it come to dominate our lives and interests.”

Thomas Jefferson said, “What country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that they preserve the spirit of resistance. Let them take arms.”  It’s not yet that time, and God help us that we never get to that point, but the wisdom of the founders came from experience.

So there were some objections by civil liberties officials in DHS to the report issued last week placing over half the country on a watchlist.  Of course the report still went out.  I really believe those of us that are on the right need to be the voices of reason and civility, but I’m afraid this will be another rant much like the one last week about the Apologist-in-Chief.

Most of us are aware of the report issued from Homeleand Security stating that pro-lifers, believers in the Constitution with all its gun ownership, free speech, right to assemble, rights of states OVER the federal govt., etc. , and – most egregiously – veterans who have risked life and limb, should be watched for increased possibility of violent actions against the federal government.

Because of the  outrage from normal citizens who have an opinion contrary to the “enlightened,” President Obama has “distanced himself” from his own department on this report.

Again, Mr. President, you are showing yourself to be inept at making appointments to your cabinet to implement your policies and have no control what your administration does.  Or you don’t have the political will or perceived mandate to stand up and actually say what you believe,  preferring to hide behind those doing your dirty work.  Both apply, but you and your Marxo-Socialist handlers know that if you tell the American people that you hate and distrust half of them, MORE THAN OUR SWORN FOREIGN ENEMIES – judging by your appeasing actions with Castro and Iran and Syria, etc), your meteoric political rise may come to a screeching halt under the boots of the patriots you so despise.

Is it coincidence that this report came out right before the Tea Parties? Your mind-numbed sycophants and groupies may believe it coincidence, but we ain’t buyin’ that any more than anything else that comes from this administration.  Your Marxist Mentor Alinsky’s Rules for Radicals says the end justifies the means – truth be damned.

I’m sure you made it a point to avoid any sight of the tea parties for fear of making your knees quake, but if you have ANY thoughts on a positive legacy, you would be wise to look out the window and see the 50+ million potential terrorists that surround you and your minions.  Your complicit media friends don’t have the luxury of hiding behind others as you do. They have fully vested themselves in your success, and we know they sense the real possibility of your administration’s collapse and have  had to ramp up the propaganda. Their readership / viewership is falling and failing at a disastrous clip and they can’t figure out why.  Demeaning and slandering well over half your potential customers doesn’t seem like much of a business plan.  But then again, the behemoth that is our government will not let their propaganda arm fail (see my post recent post here

We know you don’t pull the strings, but you are the face of the monster and you are growing uglier with the passing of each day.

Come on, America! This is our country and we have every right to take it back from the bastardizing politicians that have run rough-shod over one of the greatest documents ever written, the US Constitution.  This has been occurring for decades and our time is now!

Who should join the fight?
1.  Anyone who believes the Constitution is our basis for governance.
2. Anyone who goes to church since most churches, at least any worth their salt, are vehemently opposed to the killing of human babies.
3. Veterans of any or even no conflict, and their family members.
4. Democrats – see above
5. Republicans – see above
6. Living, breathing humans
7. Those who enjoy freedom in the greatest country on Earth.
If this list doesn’t constitute a huge majority, the battle is already lost.

What will YOU do about the daily,  incessant attacks on our freedoms?
The Tea Parties have to be the beginning and we have to stay “in it to win it.”
The Left is laughing at us – who will have the last laugh?

A public confession in this Easter season…

Posted by foundersfreedom on April 13, 2009

Dear Jesus Christ, the Lord of Lords and King of Kings – I am so sorry for the flippant manner in which I continue to regard what you have done, by choice, to show your love for your creation.

The 39 lashes you received were not just painful, they shredded your back and head beyond recogniton.  Veins and tendons were visible if one could see through the blood.  39 – because 40 is believed to be the number of lashes from the cat-o-nine-tails, those barbaric whips covered with glass shards and steel fragments, that KILLS the one receiving them.

The crown of thorns was not simply placed on your head as a mocking gesture – the thorns were pressed INTO your head causing massive amounts of blood that impaired your ability to defend yourself, though you chose not to,  against those that were spitting on you and hitting you incessantly – ripping your beard out by the handsful.

It was in this condition, beaten bloodied and nearly blind, that you were forced to carry and drag your own cross toward the place of your death.  Through the crowds of sobbing believers and the taunting of non-believers you trudged on until your physical body could no longer continue the task.

The nails, or rather, spikes, were driven through your wrists and through your feet to further the bloodletting.   The pain in your wrists, due to the strain of your hanging body was only lessened by increasing the pain in your feet when you pushed up.

Yet in the midst of this most heinous of acts you forgave your offenders and all the rest that followed in the last two centuries.  You willingly gave your own life, descended into Hell – the place of darkness, torment and eternal unspeakable lonelines meant for US sinners – and blew it’s doors wide open!  This is the greatest gift ever given to man and so many of us take it for granted.  We, indeed, are not worthy of your sacrifice, but you knew it and did it anyway.

Our righteousness is but filthy rags and only you, through your unconditional love,  made it possible to see beyond our petty little lives to see a glimpse of Heaven.  We deserve what you willingly endured.

Forgive us all for making much ado about stupid little things.  Forgive us for not standing up and speaking the Truth anywhere and everywhere.  Forgive us for allowing the deaths of nearly 50 million of your precious creations to be slaughtered on the alters of selfishness.  Forgive us for allowing those who continue to spit in your face and defy you to take control of the institutions of this country you provided for the benefit of ALL mankind.

We have hope only in You and that’s all we need.  Amen.

As America’s religion goes, so goes the country.

Posted by foundersfreedom on April 9, 2009

A sign o’ the times – and what holiday, I ask, is “Spring?” That used to be a SEASON! How offensive is GOOD FRIDAY and to WHOM?!

As I lament the quickly deteriorating state of America I also lament the state of the souls of her citizens.  America has been rotting from the inside and now the facade is beginning to crumble.  Our leaders are corrupt, moral absolutes have been diluted or destroyed and ours has become a culture of decadence and selfishness.

President Obama recently said America is not a Christian nation. Apparently it’s OK and wonderful to have oppressive Islamic countries, but a Christian country is undesirable. After I got over my initial anger, I’m afraid I have to agree with him at this point in time.  He’s supposedly a believer, and that’s between him and God, but he and his fellow ideologues have done all they can to destroy the religious foundation of America.

Gay rights, abortion of any kind, taking prayer out of schools, Christmas decorations from public places – all of these have been implemented by those who are in charge right now. The Left’s near total control of education over the last 40 years has seen to it that references to the Founding Fathers, religious or otherwise, are skimmed over or avoided completely.

How I long for a return of those statesmen, instruments of Divine Providence used to create this the most free and prosperous land in the history of man, to manifest themselves to this current generation.  We’re treated to pandering, lies, feigned support for the military, and petty bickering.

John Adams, in October 1798, said the following and it is shows the wisdom given to him and his contemporaries when the building blocks were being laid almost 300 years ago.
“Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people.  It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other.”

George Washington in 1792 (emphasis mine)
“I’m sure there never was a people, who had more reason to acknowledge a divine interposition in their affairs, than those of the United States; and I should be pained to believe, that they have forgotten that agency, which was so often manifested during our revolution, or that they failed to consider the omnipotence of that God, who is alone able to protect them.”

The enemies of freedom, inside and outside our borders, have been chipping away at the foundations since they were created, but the fabric has been held together by the Judeo-Christian ethic, or at the very least the perceived notion of a higher power and the benefits of living a good life.  Respect for life and property have their roots in every major religion, but it is a core of the Christian faith.  The first four of the Ten Commandments pertain to our relationship wih the Holy God.  The remaining six deal with our relationships with each other.  A quick review of these six and their attending assaults I hope will give pause to those who think a return to our Constitution can be accomplished without a return to our faith.

Fifth Commandment – Honor your Mother and Father
Society is telling our kids to have sex as often and anywhere they like, certainly against the desires of parents.  The UN Rights of the Child proposal will be a huge detriment to our responsibilty to raise our children. Government (sometimes called public schools) indoctrinate our children in values contrary to those taught at home.

Sixth Commandment – Thou shalt not murder
Sadly, murder is a common occurrence in lower income neighborhoods , but isn’t  restricted only to those neighborhoods.   The average age of the perpetrator is younger than ever. News reports of 14 year olds killing other human beings doesn’t shock the way it used to.  Often a criminal that commits murder gets less time than drug dealers, large-scale polluters or animal abusers.
The biggest and most damning trespass of the 6th Commandment is the horror of the killing of the unborn – abortion.  Under the auspices of “choice” or “health/life of the mother,”  we’ve entrenched the  murder of human beings into an acceptable activity.  Even most who abhor it will not stand up and speak for fear of being castigated.  So by our “sin of silence” this practice has moved to the point of allowing babies born after botched abortions to be left to die a cold, lonely death in a dark room off to the side.  If these “unwanted” babies were left on a doorstep somewhere I guarantee they’d be snatched up and taken care of by somebody, with media reports of how a community came together to find it a loving home, but since this occurs in a nearly empty room out of public view it’s OK to extinguish a life breathed by God Himself.
Seventh Commandment – Thou shalt not commit adultery
God considers ANY sex outside of marriage to be adultery. Hetero or homosexual. Watched any primetime network TV over the last 20 years or more? Enough said.

Eighth Commandment – Thou shalt not steal
Our government, through legislative fiat, has been stealing from the producers and giving it to the non-producers. Just because it’s legal doesn’t mean it isn’t stealing.

Ninth Commandment – Thou shalt not bear false witness (lie)
Terms like ‘disingenuous’ have become the new ‘liar’ but softens it to an acceptable tenor.  Our elected leaders have perfected the art of bearing false witness.

Tenth Commandment – Thou shalt not covet (desire to take from another) your neighbors wife, property, etc. (abridged for space)
Where do you start with this one?  Much can be referred back to the Eighth Commandment above.  The immoral theft and mismanagement by investment banking has caused the loss of trillions of dollars in our portfolios, yet it seems those running the show have made out just fine.  Sure, their portfolios presumably have taken a hit, too but when your making tens of millions of dollars running a company into risky investments which receive bailouts from your powerful friends in DC, it’s not so bad.
The whole Socialist mentality our country now seems to have embraced is built upon this premise.

Sociopsychologist Warren Benton said in Temporary Society, “In order to effect rapid change, one must mount a vigorous attack on the family, lest the traditions of the present generations be preserved.”  Another noted sociopsychologist, James Coleman, was even more straight-forward. He said, “If  ‘equality of opportunity’ (read socialism’) is to become part of the American Dream, the traditional family must be weakened.”  Ominous statements, indeed, and common in educational institutions, especially higher education.  It explains why so many college students come out so far removed from their values going in.

Our public education system has done a thorough job of indoctrinating our children for decades, but we can’t hold ourselves blameless if we failed to correct those teachings by reinforcing our values at home or, better yet, homeschooling them – a choice my wife and I made before our children were born.  I can talk the talk and walk the walk.  My wife is an RN and we’ve sacrificed close to a half-million dollars so far for our decision and, frankly, have no regrets.

Moral relativism is a sinister mindset that leads to pain and confusion for our kids.  They’re told that all lifestyles are equal.  They’re told that we all have our own path to heaven and no one is more right than others.  They’ve been taught that corporal punishment should be impuned or even prosecuted.   They’ve been taught that their self-esteem should be caressed at all costs.  The only way to reconcile all this in their developing value-system is by diluting the messages of the Bible and the values many have grown up with.  Our education system and entertainment industry pound on those values every day.  These kids grow up and raise children that have never known discipline, have few boundaries and no truths to anchor themselves to.  What a scary place to be!

To get a glimpse of America a decade or two from now just look at England and France.  They have given up religion en masse, and their societies are under assault from Islam. Experts are projecting both to be Islamic countries within a couple decades.  Some estimates put it as early as 2030, just 20 years from now.  How could that be, you may ask?  Pure and simple, Westerners have embraced smaller families and the “choice” of killing tens of millions of potential Westerners while Muslims are having larger families for the sake of growing their populations. Our mothers have left the home in pursuit of careers and “things,” leaving insufficient time to grow and nurture large families.

America, if we really want to get back to the country we were with the freedoms that have been the envy of the world, we need to get back the spiritual component as well as the political.  We need to say, “no” to to sports on Sunday mornings.  We need to teach the important things, like the struggles inherent with freedom and responsibility. We need to teach that what we do in private is in full view of God. If we don’t go to church regularly and seek God’s will for our lives, ask for forgiveness for our sins of commission as well omission by allowing the horrible things that have become commonplace and give Him his rightful place as the Divine Creator, our spiral into decadence will continue.

Romans 13:3-6 says about Godly rulers-

“[They] are not a terror to good works, but to the evil. Wilt thou then not be afraid of the power? do that which is good, and thou shalt have praise of the same: For he is the minister of God to thee for good. But if thou do that which is evil, be afraid; for he beareth not the sword in vain: for he is the minister of God, a revenger to execute wrath upon him that doeth evil. Wherefore ye must needs be subject, not only for wrath, but also for conscience sake. For this cause pay ye tribute also: for they are God’s ministers, attending continually upon this very thing.”

In this upside-down world where evil is called good and good evil, it doesn’t appear that what we currently have are Godly rulers.  Perhaps we get what we deserve.

God, have mercy on us.

The American (citizen) Way – take back what is ours. Is there a lesson here?

Posted by foundersfreedom on April 8, 2009

From everywhere in the news today, but in print here at Fox New

While the administration was contorting and figuring out how to blame the US for the hijacking of one of our own ships, or at least to not offend the Muslim sensitivities of the pirates,  the crew took the ship back, has one Barbarian in custody and some are “in the water.” I don’t think they meant in a boat.

Could this be a harbinger of things to come?  Allow me to stretch a little (actually a lot,  but it is MY blog), but I’m looking for encouragement wherever I can find it.

The President was unable to issue a statement other than that the situation was being closely monitored. A President incapable of handling any situation with a strong response, leads to…

The unarmed crew somehow overtaking the pirates who were certainly armed.  Pure will and determination to not be held prisoner for long…

This is the first time I remember a ship being retaken since becoming a frequent news item. When was the last time – a COUPLE HUNDRED years ago when our Navy, under the legitimate command of Thomas Jefferson fought these same Muslim robbers?

This was an American-flagged ship.  Huge ransoms have been paid in previous hijackings of ships from other countries, but NOT THIS ONE…

The criminals were thrown overboard or held in custody.  Two implications here – 1.TEA PARTIES (get to one next week) and 2. the removal and/or incarceration of the criminals in Washington that are doing their best to hijack our country and hold us captive.

Yes, this was a stretch, but it was kinda fun!  Humor me, we all know it’s been a rough ride over the las few months.
Please, please get to a Tea Party next week.  Yes, it’s symbolic, but it’s a necessary first step.

The perfect short story to illustrate the pitfall of socialism – learn it, love it and spread it!

Posted by foundersfreedom on April 7, 2009

Got this from my friends at offmyfrontporch.  Steve said I could borrow it.  Click the link for the whole story, but here’s what caught my eye.  Socialism made simple.

An economics professor at Texas Tech said he had never failed a single student before but had, once, failed an entire class. That class had insisted that socialism worked and that no one would be poor and no one would be rich, a great equalizer. The professor then said ok, we will have an experiment in this class on socialism.
All grades would be averaged and everyone would receive the same grade so no one would fail and no one would receive an A. After the first test the grades were averaged and everyone got a B. The students who studied hard were upset and the students who studied little were happy. But, as the second test rolled around, the students who studied little had studied even less and the ones who studied hard decided they wanted a free ride too; so they studied little.. The second test average was a D! No one was happy.
When the 3rd test rolled around the average was an F.
The scores never increased as bickering, blame, name calling all resulted in hard feelings and no one would study for the benefit of anyone else. All failed, to their great surprise, and the professor told them that socialism would also ultimately fail because when the reward is great, the effort to succeed is great; but when government takes all the reward away; no one will try or want to succeed.
Could not be any simpler than that….

Pres. Obama, Apologist-in-Chief, speak for yourself!

Posted by foundersfreedom on April 6, 2009

Obama is once again lapping up the reverence of the masses of Europe while spitting in the faces of our soldiers who saved their backsides in World War ll, had their backs for decades and continue to carry almost the entire weight of the “war-on-man-caused-disasters.”

Apologizing for the worlwide economic chaos, as if America is responsible for the ineptitude and corruption of their government (in one respect we are – so quit voting these dirtbags back into office! Even your own.), when the rest of his socialist friends in Europe were spending their countries into the same mess is just one more thing to add fuel to my fire.

His threat to bamboozle the Iranians and now North Korea have fallen embarrassingly short of his successful efforts with organizing communities.

Mr. Obama, these enemy countries aren’t on your payroll like ACORN and all your other neighborhood thug minions.  They see and smell weakness and it comes from YOU.

They threaten to destroy us with newly developed nuclear weapons and you want to unilaterally disarm the free world. Insanity! They have BOTH laughed at your attempts to “communitize” them.  Interesting your friends in the media don’t report their derision of you.

You are WAY out of your league and America will pay dearly for the ignorance of those who thought Change was automatically a good thing.

The country is awakening and we know your intentions. Your naivete, or worse traiterous, actions to tear America down will meet fierce opposition and it is building fast.  We the People are educating, amassing and motivated. Look out your window on Tax Day and see who you’re up against!

End rant.
