US Senate Democrats open the door for Universal Health Care – here’s your “stimulus”

Posted by foundersfreedom on February 10, 2009

“All Americans should have the same excellent health care that Congress gets!”

th_daschle1  “That’s right, Ted.  But that’s really too expensive.  I say at age 67 we cut ’em off.  Not us, everybody else.”

The Senate just passed their version of the so-called stimulus bill with the help of three liberal Republicans.  Hardly bi-partisan, but it did pass.

We just found out last night that this monstrosity contains a provision for kicking the door wide open to implement the onerous universal health care we’ve been hearing about for years.

Under the title of  National Coordinator of Health Information Technology, a deceptive title since it goes beyond technology to insert into actual treatments and effectiveness, The National Coordinator’s duties include the following:

(1) ensures that each patient’s health information is secure and protected, in accordance with applicable law;

(2) improves health care quality, reduces medical errors, and advances the delivery of patient-centered medical care;

(3) reduces health care costs resulting from inefficiencies, medical errors, inappropriate care, duplicative care, and incomplete information;

(4) provides appropriate information to help guide medical decisions at the time and place of care;

(5) ensures the inclusion of meaningful public input in such development of such infrastructure;

(6) improves the coordination of care and information among hospitals, laboratories, physician offices,and other entities through an effective infrastructure for the secure and authorized exchange of health care information;

(7) improves public health activities and facilitates the early identification and rapid response to public health threats and emergencies, including bioterror events and infectious disease outbreaks;

(8) facilitates health and clinical research and health care quality;

(9) promotes early detection, prevention, and management of chronic diseases;

(10) promotes a more effective marketplace, greater competition, greater systems analysis, increased consumer choice, and improved outcomes in health care services, and

(11) improves efforts to reduce health disparities.

Okay, so computerizing and centralizing American’s health records is to be able to secure and protect it?  Only in Washington where personal FBI files of your opposition can end up in the hands of certain strategic people.

This Coordinator sitting in DC will “help guide medical decisions at the time and place of care” because he/she obviously will know better than your doctor how to treat what ails you.  I don’t think God is looking for a job.  And they will coordinate care from hospitals to labs to your doctor’s office.  How big of a bureaucracy will that take?  There’s your 4 million jobs saved or created!

There’s really no sense in going on with any analysis of what this says. We know where it’s leading.

What frosts me and millions of others is the way it was hidden and hurried through the process without real, honest and open debate.  It’s quite obvious that Daschle, Kennedy, Obama and their cohorts knew that resistance would build quickly once the light of day shone upon it.  This is nothing new except for the scope of what they are trying to do – take over one seventh of the American economy after effectively taking over the banking system.  But, since the socialists/ leftists run the show, the best we can do is pound on our representatives and hope and pray they do the right thing and vote against it.  This backroom political end run around the people of this country is unforgiveable and decidely Chicagoesque.  Mr. Obama learned well.

I do believe that Obama has opened this can of worms too soon. Many millions of us knew his intentions before his election, but now the mask is off for many others who were just wanting to get rid of George Bush.  This is NOT the change they were looking for.

We knew this fight was coming sooner or later in this administration, so we’ll make sure the President has to burn as much political capital as possible right from the get-go.  Bring it on.
