Yemeni al Qaeda freed from Gitmo/ Saudi prince threatens US with jihad threat against Israel. What exactly has been going on for the last 40 years then?

But that’s okay, President Obama will speak to him when he gets a chance.

The recidivism rate among the released Gitmo detainees should make everyone stop and think about what will happen to the next 245  that our new President says he will move.  Will he ship them back to their country of origin?  Will he move them into the United States?  I guess he’s got a year to figure it out.

In this article from the NY Times  (all the news that’s fit for lefties), intel officials have confrimed that a Yemeni went form Gitmo to our “friends” the Saudis for retraining.  Now it seems he’s shown up in Yemen and moving up the ranks of al Qaeda.

This is NOT a war on terror, it is a war against an ideology disuised as a religion.

The sooner we figure that out and readjust, the better off we’ll be.

From the article:

The militant, Said Ali al-Shihri, is suspected of involvement in a deadly bombing of the United States Embassy in Yemen’s capital, Sana, in September. He was released to Saudi Arabia in 2007 and passed through a Saudi rehabilitation program for former jihadists before resurfacing with Al Qaeda in Yemen.

Like they asked at JW: is al qaeda running the retraining camps?  Do we know who is?  Do we even care to find out?

Now to further stir the pot read this at http://www.jihadwatch.com/

“Unless the new U.S. administration takes forceful steps to prevent any further suffering and slaughter of Palestinians, the peace process, the U.S.-Saudi relationship and the stability of the region are at risk,” said Turki, a former Saudi intelligence chief and former ambassador to the United States and Britain.[…]

Former U.S. President George W. Bush’s administration had left a “sickening legacy” in the Middle East, Turki wrote, singling out the Iraq war.

The Bush administration had also contributed to the “slaughter of innocents” in Gaza, said Turki, who currently holds no official government position in the world’s top crude oil exporter.

“If the U.S. wants to continue playing a leadership role in the Middle East and keep its strategic alliances intact — especially its ‘special relationship’ with Saudi Arabia — it will have to drastically revise its policies vis-a-vis Israel and Palestine,” Turki wrote. He said Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad had written to Saudi King Abdullah last week urging Saudi Arabia to lead a “jihad,” or holy war, against Israel.

This call for jihad would, if pursued, create “unprecedented chaos and bloodshed” in the region, said Turki.

“So far, the kingdom has resisted these calls, but every day this restraint becomes more difficult to maintain,” he said.

Ah, yes, our friends the Saudis.  It is so obvious that the lines are being drawn in this clash of civilizations.

  1. Dr Shah said

Guantanamo inmates Abu Sufyan al-Azdi al-Shahri
Barack Obama gave the go-ahead for his first military action , missile strikes in Pakistan..WHY..whatever the reason it is an incorrigible act of terrorism on cvilians. This terrorism begets more terrorism in the form and style of the Abu Sufyan al-Azdi al-Shahri and colleagues. They fight the US military not civilians. Bush started it all the killing of civilians in Iraq and else where claiming divine mandate from GOD. But what is his religion ?..anybody knows this Bushe’s religion and also of Hussein Obama ?

This is expected from a “combatant”. He wages war on the “war on terror US democratic principles” .This inmate has not been tried for killing people but stayed long enough for bombing US military installation. He will do so foreever. Many IRA catholic army who were released went back to fight the British protestants simply to demand a home rule for Northern Ireland. So why shouldnt this “combatant” do the same ?

  2. Dr. Shah,
The attacks of 9-11 were before the war on terror, so our response is an act of terror? You’ll have to explain that one to me. The US was never part of Dar al-Islam so it cannot be to regain “rightful” territory. It was not teror begetting terror.

Since there is no actual army to go after, Pres. Bush went after those that expressed the desire and will to do the attacks. Judging by the fact there have not been more attacks, I would say the targets were probably correct.

You’ll also have to explain to me how an attack on al-Qaeda members in Pakistani tribal areas that are controlled by the Taliban and al-Qaeda are terrorist attacks. We do not target civilians, though sometimes they are hit and we mourn for them. The Twin Towers were ALL civilians (though I know in fundamental Islam they are not considered innocent)and millions in the ME (and even on colege campuses here!) cheered in th streets when it was broadcast in the news.

Osama bin Laden, the world leader of al Qadea, and I would say all of militant Islam, has expressed his goal of destroying America and establishing a worldwide caliphate. So are we to just pull back and wait for more attacks and then not respond?
I also know what dhimmitude means and we will not submit to that.

Though you may not personally agree with their expressed desires, you cannot deny that this threat exists, is growing and that it is based on the teachings in the Koran and ahadith.

I’m open to correction if I’m wrong. Thanks for visiting.
