Palestine Facts – know what you’re talking about before running your yap.

As the media wins mount for the terrorist Hamas, let’s put some facts into the equation, since the media won’t do it. I won’t even get into the biblical aspect, except maybe later.
Palestine was inhabited by the Jews very likely much earlier, but definitely as early as 538 BC when they were released from Babylon. The “Philistines”, as they were called then were NOT Arabic or Jewish and had no connection culturally or religiously to either group. It seems that the Jews made something out of nothing and the land prospered until the Muslim Conquests. Yes, the Muslim Conquests. (Doesn’t get nearly as much play as the Crusades – which took the lands back from the Muslims).
At the time of World War 1, the Ottoman Empire, a devout Muslim caliph, so to speak, ruled the area. At the conclusion of WW1 the British Empire had the right to do with the land as it saw fit. They saw fit to give the Jewish people a land to call home. It wasn’t all cut and dried for the Jews as much of the land was given to Syria and Jordan in exchange for their “help” in the war.
Thus, Israel ended up with the small piece we know today, surrounded on 3 sides by people who want nothing more than to wipe them off the map. A look at the way the West Bank and Gaza “intrude” into the State of Israel shows why they have to protect themselves from attacks coming from those two areas. (I couldn’t find one to insert here, but found plenty) They have tried to allow the indigenous people to rule these areas in the continuous and non-productive “land for peace” deals, but the attacks keep on coming. As long as the citizens of those areas keep putting rulers in power that have the expressed charter to annihilate Israel, this will continue until Kingdom Come. Literally.

Whereas the Principal Allied Powers have agreed, for the purpose of giving effect to the provisions of Article 22 of the Covenant of the League of Nations, to entrust to a Mandatory selected by the said Powers the administration of the territory of Palestine, which formerly belonged to the Turkish Empire, within such boundaries as may be fixed by them; and
Whereas the Principal Allied Powers have also agreed that the Mandatory should be responsible for putting into effect the declaration originally made on November 2nd, 1917, by the Government of His Britannic Majesty [the Balfour Declaration], and adopted by the said Powers, in favor of the establishment in Palestine of a national home for the Jewish people, it being clearly understood that nothing should be done which might prejudice the civil and religious rights of existing non-Jewish communities in Palestine, or the rights and political status enjoyed by Jews in any other country; and
Whereas recognition has thereby been given to the historical connection of the Jewish people with Palestine and to the grounds for reconstituting their national home in that country;

According to Muslims, once Muslims rule a land it is theirs forever and will fight to recover it. See Spain. This isn’t a territorial war as much as a religious one. The terrorists target civilians and put their own in harm’s way for media points. Israelis try their best to avoid civilians, even warning them ahead of time. I stand with the good guys and against Barbarians. So before you join the ignorant throngs, find out more than what you’re being told.
And besides, God gave it to them as their own and will ultimately have the final say. I’m siding with the winner – Israel.
